As a die-hard fan of Sukumar’s cinematic brilliance, I must say that his recent expression of wanting to quit cinema has left me utterly bewildered and disheartened! This man has been instrumental in crafting some of Tollywood’s most iconic films, from Arya to Rangasthalam, and now Pushpa 2: The Rule. His unique storytelling, attention to detail, and the magic he weaves on screen are unparalleled!
Director Sukumar is currently enjoying the triumph of Allu Arjun’s movie Pushpa 2: The Rule, which was released in cinemas on December 5. Although the movie has received an immense response from audiences, the director has voiced his intentions to step away from filmmaking.
As a diehard movie enthusiast, let me share some exciting news! Recently, I had the privilege of attending the pre-release event for Game Changer in Dallas – right alongside Ram Charan and other esteemed individuals. The moment that truly stood out for me was when the host posed a question to the director, Sukumar, about what he’d like to leave behind. Without hesitation, his answer was as profound as it was simple: “Cinema.” As a fellow cinephile, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of admiration for his unwavering passion and dedication to the art of filmmaking.
After listening to his statement, Ram Charan swiftly grabbed the microphone from him and declared, “No, it won’t come to that.” The audience, eager for Pushpa 2’s success, dismissed the idea of him leaving films altogether and instead, showed their enthusiasm with applause. Now, footage of this event is spreading rapidly across social media platforms.
In response to the video, one social media user expressed, “Tollywood won’t abandon you @SukumarWritings sir! You are here to create fantastic films.” Another user chimed in, “We won’t see that until Pushpa 3 – The Rampage is completed.

At a pre-launch gathering, Sukumar spoke to the crowd about how he recently watched the film “Game Changer” featuring Chiranjeevi. He openly expressed his opinions on the movie and praised the first half as exceptional.
Sukumar expressed his appreciation for Game Changer in these words: “The first half was fantastic. The interval scene was incredible, like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I have full faith in it. The second half, with its flashback sequence, gave me goosebumps – it was simply amazing. I loved it just as much as Shankar’s Gentleman and Bharateeyudu.
The director expressed his belief that Ram Charan deserves to win a National Award for his acting in the movie directed by S Shankar. He explained, “I strongly believed Ram Charan would receive a National Award for Rangasthalam, and many others felt the same. However, the way he portrayed emotions in the film’s final scenes revived that conviction in me. His performance was exceptional, and I am confident he will win a National Award for it.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that starting January 10, the much-anticipated film starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani will grace our movie screens, perfectly timed for the Pongal celebrations!
