In the year 2022, I was enthralled by the blockbuster movie “Jana Gana Mana” starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. There were whispers of a sequel among the creators back then, but those discussions eventually subsided. Now, it seems that talk about a sequel has resurfaced once again.
On his official Instagram account, the movie’s director, Dijo Jose Antony, recently shared a unique poster commemorating the third anniversary of its release. Accompanying the poster, he wrote in the caption, “Aravind Swaminathan goes on…” (translated from Malayalam).

It’s worth mentioning that Jana Gana Mana, originally planned to have a follow-up, sparked discussions about its possible cancellation. Officially, there’s no word on the matter yet, but we’re curious if it will indeed come to fruition.
As an ardent follower, I find myself immersed in the gripping tale of “Jana Gana Mana,” a captivating legal thriller. The story revolves around the mysterious demise of a promising young academic, Saba Mariyam. This unfortunate event has sparked nationwide unrest and protests. In response, the Government of Karnataka entrusted the investigation to ACP Sajjan Kumar, who relentlessly pursued justice for Saba’s family. His tireless efforts led him straight into the den of the culprits, earning him admiration and respect from the people as a true hero.
Yet, when it involves human rights issues, the murder case undergoes trial, and former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Aravind Swaminathan, uncovers to both the court and the nation that this entire case was a grand scheme by the Karnataka government, intended to secure their power in upcoming elections.
The legal thriller film delves into how the government utilized the situation to their benefit, examines the role of the investigating officer throughout, and offers additional insights. As the movie concludes on a triumphant note, it also provides brief glimpses into Aravind Swaminathan’s past before his transformation into an advocate, hinting at a potential sequel.
On the professional side of Prithviraj Sukumaran, he recently appeared in the film “L2: Empuraan,” which starred Mohanlal. This movie was a sequel to the 2019 release “Lucifer,” that Prithviraj himself directed.
Moreover, the actor is at present featured in the upcoming movie, provisionally known as SSMB29, which stars Mahesh Babu. Furthermore, you can expect to see the actor play a prominent role in the film titled Vilayath Buddha.
