Is Mammootty not well? MP John Brittas shares BIG update on actor’s health

As a devoted admirer, I found myself caught up in the buzz surrounding Malayali superstar Mammootty when whispers of cancer diagnoses circulated. However, it seems that the actor’s team refuted these reports. More recently, John Brittas, a Rajya Sabha MP and my dear friend, has shared some insight into the actor’s current health status.

During a recent interview on Reporter TV, the politician disclosed that Mammootty is currently dealing with a small health problem and is receiving medical care for it.

According to what he stated, Brittas mentioned that Mammootty is dealing with a minor health issue at the moment and is currently undergoing treatment. Rest assured, he’s doing alright; I’ve even spoken to him over the phone recently.

Though we’ve known each other for many years without discussing our private affairs too often, it seems we’ve started to open up and share more personal details lately,” he explained.

As a devoted fan, I’ve come across news allegedly stating that Mammootty has been diagnosed with cancer. However, while these rumors have been circulating on the web, the actor’s official team has released a statement clarifying that this is not accurate information.

I’ve clarified the situation myself: “I’m currently taking a vacation due to observing Ramadan. Additionally, my shoot schedule has temporarily paused because of this. Rest assured, following this break, I will return to work on Mahesh Narayanan’s film with Mohanlal.

Regarding Mammootty’s career, he recently appeared in the main character for the film titled “Bazooka.” This Malayalam language action-thriller was the directorial debut of Deeno Dennis, who also wrote the script.

The film showcased the tale of a businessman and gamer joining forces with a police officer to pursue a relentless criminal. Besides Mammootty, the cast also included Gautham Vasudev Menon, Divya Pillai, Sidharth Bharathan, Iswarya Menon, and several others in significant roles.

Initially premiering in movie theaters on April 10, 2025, this cinematic production unfortunately received poor critic responses and struggled financially at the box office. However, it’s now anticipated that the film will be available for streaming on ZEE5 shortly.

In the future, the actor will be seen in the upcoming crime drama film titled “Kalamkaval,” where he will share the screen with fellow actor Vinayakan.

I’m excitedly sharing that I’m part of Mammootty’s monumental project, the as-yet-untitled “MMMN (Patriot)” by director Mahesh Narayanan. This film promises to be an exhilarating action-thriller, featuring a star-studded ensemble including Mohanlal (in a cameo role), Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Darshana Rajendran, among others.
