Prabhas has been receiving a lot of attention for his small appearance as Rudra in Kannappa. Social media platforms have been overflowing with lavish compliments for the Rebel Star, who relished the short but impactful role he was given in the movie. More recently, Vishnu Manchu expressed his thoughts on this very subject.
Is Prabhas’ cameo the only reason behind Kannappa’s success?
During a recent gathering following the release of Kannappa, Vishnu Manchu was queried about whether he believed Prabhas’ brief appearance as Rudra significantly contributed to the movie’s prosperity.
For those unfamiliar, from audience feedback, it appears that the character portrayed by the Salaar actor has received more affection compared to Vishnu, the film’s leading man.
In response, Vishnu Manchu stated confidently, “I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. While some might question Kannappa’s role, I am humble enough to acknowledge my brother Prabhas’ opening scene without any ego. I understand this fact.
He stated, “It was entirely due to him that your interest in the tale of Kannappa arose. Upon his introduction, you began learning about Kannappa, thus implying that it was solely my brother who sparked this curiosity.
Ram Gopal Varma lauds Vishnu Manchu’s performance over Prabhas
Lately, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma reached out to Vishnu Manchu following his viewing of Kannappa. In the message, the director expressed that while he’s not a fan of content surrounding gods and devotees, he made an exception with this movie due to Vishnu’s powerful acting performance.
Additionally, RGV pointed out that unlike most viewers drawn to the movie by Prabhas’ participation, he himself is only interested in the film due to Vishnu’s role.
In summary, it seems that folks are attending the theater primarily for Prabhas, however, I’m planning to purchase a ticket at the theater to watch you instead.
Kannappa’s special cameos
For those unfamiliar, Kannappa had the privilege of observing several notable appearances by prominent actors from the film industry. Apart from Prabhas portraying Rudra, renowned actor Mohanlal stepped into the unique role of Kiraata.
From my perspective, whereas I found Akshay Kumar embodying the character of Lord Shiva, it was none other than Kajal Aggarwal who graced the screen as Devi Parvati in these extraordinary appearances.
