Is InZoi the Next Big Thing? Devs Say It Runs Smoothly on Steam Deck!

2024 rolled around, and the release of InZoi’s character creator demo sent ripples through the gaming community, making it one of the most eagerly awaited games this year. Some even see it as a potential challenger to The Sims 4. Excitingly, it’s about to drop on PC, but only in an early access format. Now, I, as a fellow gamer, can’t help but wonder if we’ll be able to take this game on the go. Though it hasn’t been officially confirmed for Valve’s handheld platform yet, the developers have hinted ahead of its early access launch that InZoi “runs smoothly” on Steam Deck.

Can you play on InZoi on Steam Deck?

On February 28th, 2025, an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session was held by the developers on the InZoi Discord channel. During this event, fans were given the chance to ask questions. However, the developers chose not to entertain queries regarding topics like microtransactions and post-launch early access plans.

The developers confirmed that the game can run on the Steam Deck, although it hasn’t been specifically fine-tuned for optimal performance by Valve yet.

In addition, the response claimed, “The game runs fine, but you may need to adjust settings”.

It’s yet to be determined if the game will perform smoothly on Valve’s handheld system, as its early access release isn’t scheduled until March 27th or 28th, depending on your location. However, you can try out the free demo, which primarily offers a character creator and building studio at this point.

There’s a great deal of anticipation building around InZoi, a sentiment shared by many given that the game currently tops Steam’s most sought-after games list. Notably, it’s frequently compared to The Sims 4, which has sparked intrigue and excitement among fans. This new life simulation game allows you to act as a deity, with an even greater scope for customization than its predecessor, and promises ultra-realistic graphics.

Once more, the early access version of InZoi is set to debut on March 27th or 28th, priced at $39.99. Following this, it will become available on gaming consoles; however, it won’t be accessible on PS5 and Xbox until the end of the early access period.

In other Steam Deck news, users can soon get an “overwhelmingly positive” RPG and more for free.
