As a long-time Hulu subscriber, I’ve experienced my fair share of streaming hiccups, but this latest outage was particularly frustrating. It felt like a cruel twist of fate that it happened during the 10th inning of the ALCS Game 3 – talk about timing!

Recently, a significant number of Hulu viewers encountered interruptions while watching their preferred shows, causing widespread annoyance. Almost immediately, complaints about the problem emerged, with numerous individuals turning to social media to vent their frustration. Now, there’s a growing interest among users in learning whether Hulu is still experiencing issues or if the matter has been resolved.

Is Hulu down and not working?

Last Thursday evening, on October 17th, Hulu suffered a major disruption, impacting numerous users throughout the service.

As a devoted viewer, I noticed a significant increase in streaming troubles around 6:13 p.m. ET yesterday, based on reports from Downdetector. At its peak, an estimated 82,500 users were affected by these issues. (Source: KRON4)

Multiple disgruntled users turned to a platform previously known as X (Twitter) to post snapshots of the issue they experienced, which was displayed as an error message stating, “We’re experiencing difficulties with this playback. Don’t worry, we’re actively working on resolving it. For now, attempting to restart the video might prove helpful.

Some users were deeply frustrated because the outage happened during the tenth inning of the ALCS Game 3 between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians, making them miss significant parts of the game. One user expressed their anger on platform X: “Two playoff baseball games, NFL, college football, and Hulu just keep malfunctioning. If this isn’t fixed in two minutes, I’m switching to YouTube TV. This is a ridiculous joke and a waste of money.

Hulu promptly addressed several customer concerns, promising swift action to fix the problem without delay.

Approximately 3,800 users continued to experience difficulties with Hulu by 7:30 p.m., but for a few users, it appeared that the problem had been fixed.

Is the Hulu issue fixed?

As per a recent update from Hulu Support on platform X, the problem seems to have been addressed. Nevertheless, several users have reported persisting issues with their Hulu service.

A user recently reported an issue with X, saying “It’s not functioning properly again; I’m getting the ‘Trouble Viewing’ message once more.” So far, Hulu has not addressed this concern.
