As a long-time WWE fan and avid gamer of professional wrestling simulations, I have been following the intense rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk with bated breath. Having grown up watching both wrestlers in their prime, I can’t help but be invested in this personal feud that has unfolded on and off the screen.
Recently, WWE champion Drew McIntyre created a stir online by sharing a picture with All Elite Wrestling’s Jack Perry during the ongoing CM Punk controversy. The tension between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk has escalated into a deeply personal feud in the past couple of months.
At WrestleMania 40, CM Punk prevented McIntyre from claiming the world title and went on to undermine his career further. During the Clash at the Castle event in Scotland, as the referee, Punk denied McIntyre the opportunity to win back the title. In June, McIntyre managed to secure a spot in the Money in the Bank match, won the briefcase, and cashed it in during the main event. Yet again, Punk interfered, disrupting McIntyre’s attempt to capture the championship.
CM Punk consistently creates problems for Drew McIntyre in his quest for title contention. Yet, McIntyre hasn’t been passive in response. He has frequently targeted Punk, exploiting his weaknesses, stealing his WrestleMania slot, and even mocking him through merchandise.
Drew McIntyre has taken his beef with CM Punk to the next stage. Lately, he shared a picture of himself with AEW’s Jack Perry and wrote “Cry us a river” as the caption. This comment was a clear dig at the heated argument between Punk and Perry that took place backstage during AEW All In in 2023.
I was deeply engrossed in following AEW last year when things took an unexpected turn between CM Punk and Jack Perry during one of their backstage encounters. It all started after Perry’s match against HOOK, where he taunted Punk with the words, “Real glass, cry me a river.” Those words struck a nerve with me, and I could only imagine how they must have provoked Punk into a heated confrontation. The fallout from this incident resulted in Perry being suspended and me, as CM Punk, being let go from the promotion. However, I didn’t stay down for long; just a few months later, I made my triumphant return to WWE.
Drew McIntyre’s decision to bring the real-life AEW brawl between him and Jack Perry into his WWE rivalry has fueled rumors about hidden friction in the backstage scene. New information is surfacing, giving insights into whether McIntyre’s picture from that incident caused any tension behind the scenes.

Drew McIntyre deletes Jack Perry picture amid CM Punk incident
Recently, a picture of WWE star Drew McIntyre with AEW’s Jack Perry became popular online, but it was removed not long after being posted. The sudden deletion fueled rumors that McIntyre could be dealing with tension or conflict within the WWE backstage community.
Based on WRKD Wrestling’s updates, Drew McIntyre seems unfazed by deleting his picture with Jack Perry in WWE. Reports suggest that McIntyre and CM Punk are working hand in hand to intensify their ongoing feud.
Drew McIntyre removed a picture of Jack Perry from his social media, but there’s no reason to believe any tension exists behind the scenes. In fact, McIntyre and CM Punk are collaborating closely on their feud, with any previous AEW or backstage matters given approval by Punk prior to their confrontations.
