Is Director George Miller Done With His ‘Mad Max’ Saga?

George Miller, who won an Oscar, hinted to Vulture that he might carry on spinning tales within the Mad Max universe if everything falls into place. In 2015, Miller revitalized the franchise with Mad Max: Fury Road and followed up last year by releasing a prequel film titled Furiosa. Thus, we wonder what other adventures he has planned for us.

I have another script to work on, and I’ve been in this business long enough that I have an abundance of stories – not just ideas floating around in my head but also written scripts or detailed notes that are easily convertible into screenplays. In fact, you could say I’m a professional daydreamer. As a kid, my teachers often noted that I would perform better academically if I didn’t spend so much time daydreaming. So, I have a wealth of stories at my disposal.

One of them has the role of Mad Max. Frankly, that’s not my immediate plan as I have two other tasks I’m eager to tackle next. However, if unexpected circumstances arise and everything falls into place, who knows what might happen? Making a movie can be unpredictable; things don’t always go as planned. Sometimes they work out, sometimes they don’t, so all I can say is we’ll have to wait and see.

It did take him 9 years between Fury Road and Furiosa, so his fans are used to waiting.
