The Venkatesh Daggubati-led movie “Sankranthiki Vasthunam” has been thriving in cinemas since its debut on January 14. In India, it surpassed the Rs 100 crore milestone and kept money flowing at the box office. Given the film’s impressive run in theaters, producer Dil Raju is making efforts to postpone the digital release of “Sankranthiki Vasthunam”.
Based on information from OTTPlay, streaming platform ZEE5 purchased the digital rights for Venkatesh Daggubati’s latest movie at a cost of 30 crore rupees. This deal was sealed following the film’s success in cinemas. As stipulated by the contract, the movie is set to premiere on OTT platforms during the second week of February 2025.
On the other hand, producer Dil Raju thinks that releasing Sankranthiki Vasthunam on an online platform too soon might harm its current success, which has been strong even after two weeks of release. Consequently, the film’s creators are currently discussing potential delays in the movie’s digital premiere with a major streaming service.
As reported by Sacnilk, the film Sankranthiki Vasthunam earned approximately 156.70 crore rupees within a span of 13 days. Notably, this production has surpassed the 200-crore mark at the international box office.
