Summary
- Daniel Caesar is teasing a new album, presumably titled Son of Spergy
- The musician shared a trailer as well as a website with presave links for the new project
- In the trailer, Caesar tagged Bon Iver, Clairo, Sampha, and more
It seems like Daniel Caesar is preparing for a new project. Following his collaboration on Blood Orange’s “The Field” comeback track, it looks like Caesar is gearing up for a fresh start; aside from the two-pack he released with Rex Orange County on Valentine’s Day this year, Caesar has been relatively quiet on the solo music front since his last album, NEVER ENOUGH, which dropped in April of 2023. However, things are set to pick up soon…
It seems that Caesar’s latest venture is tentatively called “Son of Spergy,” a title appearing consistently in his recent social media promos and on the URL of the official website for the album, which at present contains an embedded video trailer along with pre-save links to the project.
In the trailer, he also tags Bon Iver, Clairo, Dev Hynes, Sampha, Rex Orange County, and 646yf4t.

Initially, he posted a brief video-like snippet on his Instagram timeline (removing all other posts first), accompanied by an extended caption as well.
Composing a missive about my new album, I aim for both depth and wit. There’s an unspoken wish within me to conceive and articulate a unique idea, one that has yet to cross another mind. Yet, as I start…,
As a child, whenever my father felt let down by me, wanted to inspire me, or tried to communicate something that I didn’t understand at the time, he used to share his authentic life story with me. He would recount tales of Jamaica’s thriving tourism era and his job as a dinner musician at Doctor’s Cave Beach, entertaining tourists from across the globe. He spoke about a kind Canadian couple who discovered him singing and brought him to Canada to perform on 3ABN (a TV station run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church). This experience ignited his affection for the country, which eventually led him to meet my mother. I would listen indifferently to these stories because I had heard them so many times before. He would caution me about the deceptive allure of this world and urge me to keep God at the center of my life.
The conclusion reads: “All things are meaningless. What truly matters is family. Always be honest and straightforward in your interactions. Never lose sight of the fact that god is the ultimate benchmark for morality. I am insignificant, but as Spergy’s son, I exist in body, and in spirit, I am God’s.
Stay tuned as more information on the new album arises.
