Unreal Engine 5 and AI Integration
InZoi is constructed using the Unreal Engine 5, lending it its spectacular graphics. Unlike many other life-simulation games that typically favor a more caricatured, animated appearance, InZoi showcases realistic character designs (referred to as Zois) and intricately detailed surroundings.
Beyond its powerful graphics, InZoi also employs AI technology to boost customization options. With this AI, users can generate in-game content using text prompts like clothing designs or wall patterns, among other things. Additionally, the game offers a tool that resembles a 3D printer, enabling players to import real-life photos and convert them into 3D assets within the game.
Key Gameplay Features
InZoi delivers an abundance of gameplay elements tailored for enthusiasts of life simulations, as demonstrated by the following highlights:
(The goal is to maintain the original meaning while using simpler and more natural language.)
- Character Customization: The Character Studio in InZoi allows you to design your Zois in great detail. From their looks to their personalities and aspirations, the customization options are vast.
- City Building and Editing: The game lets you build and modify cities with various biomes and aesthetics. Unlike the lot-based mechanics of The Sims 4, InZoi offers an open-world city where players can explore freely.
- Skills and Careers: Zois can pursue various careers – from K-pop idols to firefighters – and develop skills like cooking, music, and social interaction. These systems offer a depth of engagement, allowing you to shape your Zois’ lives in meaningful ways.
- Weather, Crime, and Exploration: With dynamic weather systems and a built-in crime mechanic, InZoi allows Zois to chase down criminals – or find themselves in trouble with the law. Plus, the city is full of interesting points of interest, such as a theme park with rideable roller coasters.
- Afterlife: Zois can become ghosts and visit Zoi-heaven, where they can even interact with other deceased Zois.
How Does InZoi Compare to The Sims?
Although InZoi bears many resemblances to The Sims, director Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim has stressed that the game is not intended to challenge the established franchise. Instead, he views InZoi as an option for enthusiasts of life-simulation games. Kim acknowledges the long-standing influence of The Sims and highlights that it’s challenging to match its complexity in a brief timeframe.
To put it simply, InZoi seems packed with numerous features from the start, featuring a stronger city-building aspect and intricate character personalization. These aspects could easily draw in fans of the genre seeking something new and exciting.
