As a gaming enthusiast, diving into KRAFTON’s latest creation, InZoi, feels like stepping onto a fresh battlefield in the ongoing war between games. It’s not just another contender, it’s The Sims’ formidable rival, leaving everyone buzzing with anticipation. In its early access phase, this game has already become the talk of the town, sparking laughter with its bizarre kidnapping shenanigans and setting trends with a flood of top-notch mods, even before the official modkit hit the shelves.
As the game development process continues, Game Director Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim looks forward to expanding the game’s reach to additional platforms in the future. In a conversation with VideoGamer, Kim expressed their desire to release the game on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, but acknowledged that this might not be feasible.
InZoi on Nintendo Switch 2 might not be possible
According to Kim’s interview with VideoGamer, the team is currently examining the technical specifications of the potential Nintendo Switch 2. If the console’s GPU power is indeed similar to that of an RTX 2050, which is slightly lower than the PC game requirements, significant optimization work would be necessary for the team to make games run smoothly on this platform.
As a fan eagerly anticipating the Nintendo Switch 2, I can’t definitively say what its hardware capabilities will be because the specifications haven’t been revealed yet. However, whispers in the gaming community hint at potential RTX 2050-like performance. If that’s true, it might pose a challenge for games like inZOI, which currently demand high-end specs, to run smoothly on the Switch 2 without modifications.
Despite this, the team is eager to launch the game on multiple platforms once the Early Access phase ends. Already, strategies are in place for the game’s release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, but the Nintendo Switch 2 presents an intriguing hurdle.
The game’s director shared that they plan to introduce inZOI across multiple platforms. If optimizing the game for the Switch 2 is possible given its capabilities, they view this as an excellent chance to reach out to even more gamers.
Regarding the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, it’s a remarkable technological device boasting titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, which employs DLSS to deliver decent visuals on the platform. Yet, some games seem to encounter challenges running smoothly on this device too.
At Star Wars Celebration, I got a sneak peek at the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of the game, which carries over the original’s ray-tracing effects. However, performance-wise, it currently falls short. But remember, we’re only at the beginning of the console’s lifecycle, and there are still several months of optimization ahead for this game. By the time it hits the shelves, it could easily deliver a much smoother experience.
