Introducing Shackmaps – Free interactive video game maps

Following several months of quiet development, we are thrilled to unveil Shackmaps – the latest venture in our lineup, which will be a part of the broader Shacknews family.

For some time now, Shackmaps has been a long-standing idea in our thoughts. We began its development towards the end of 2024. Keeping it under wraps has proven challenging, but we’re excited to share that it’s now available in early access!

What is Shackmaps?

On Shackmaps, you’ll find interactive maps tailored for your preferred video games! You can create an account to monitor your advancement and place pins as suggestions. Surprisingly, signing up won’t cost you a dime. All our features are accessible at no charge, and there’s plenty more exciting content on the horizon alongside what we already have available.

Our initial map is named Atomfall, and it offers a substantial boost to anyone playing. But that’s just the start! Currently, we are developing four additional maps based on well-known games from past years. Moreover, we’re eager to create maps for upcoming titles as they get launched. Our goal is to build a comprehensive map library that makes us your preferred choice for gaming maps – both today and in the future.

Through Shackmaps, we’ve unlocked new possibilities that were previously unavailable. Our pool of freelancers will expand significantly. We’re forging connections with skilled guide writers and map makers who are excited to contribute and help elevate our exceptional guides team even higher. We value investing in not just our brand, but also the people behind it. Shackmaps empowers us to do more of that.

In terms of content, Shackmaps complements our Shacknews site by providing interconnected resources. We can attach our written guides to pins within Shackmaps, and link maps from Shacknews to guides in Shackmaps. This setup offers readers and viewers multiple avenues for accessing information without imposing one option over the other. Our goal with Shackmaps is to equip users with adaptable tools that cater to their specific preferences.

Over the coming weeks and months, Shackmaps is set to make some noise. Regardless if you’re a gamer playing our maps, a freelancer assisting in their creation, or a developer seeking to showcase your game on our platform, we’re excited to become the premier spot for interactive video game maps.
