Interview with the Vampire and 6 must-watch AMC shows on Netflix

As a gamer with a soft spot for quality TV shows and an insatiable appetite for binge-watching, I can wholeheartedly vouch for the 7 AMC series now available on Netflix. With diverse genres spanning from supernatural drama to historical action, these shows cater to a wide range of tastes.

Starting from August 19, this coming Monday, Netflix is re-acquiring a large portion of AMC’s content. If you haven’t caught up with some AMC series available on Netflix before now, I recommend you take a look!

Despite trying to watch everything, keep in mind that not all series are available in their entirety on Netflix – you’ll need to visit AMC for additional seasons. However, there’s still plenty to enjoy in this bulk release! With that said, here’s our list of 7 must-see AMC shows currently streaming on Netflix to help prioritize your viewing.

7 AMC shows on Netflix you need to check out

Interview with the Vampire

As a fervent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just discovered the first season of “Interview with the Vampire” is now streaming on Netflix! Although this series takes some liberties with the Anne Rice novel, like shifting the time period and maturing Claudia, it largely remains faithful to the original story. It’s a captivating and eloquently crafted adaptation that will undoubtedly leave you yearning for more!

The first season gets you up to when Louis and Claudia have to leave New Orleans for Europe. In the present day, we see more of Daniel as he hears the story from Louis, and yes, Armand is there as well!

The second season is available to stream on AMC+. There is a third season in the works.

A Discovery of Witches

Lovers of supernatural television series that blend elements of romance and historical drama should definitely check out “A Discovery of Witches“. Unlike some shows where only a single season is available, all three seasons of this captivating series are at your disposal, allowing you to immerse yourself in the entire storyline without interruption.

The narrative unfolds around the “All Souls” trilogy penned by Deborah Harkness. In this tale, we encounter Diana Bishop, a witch who’s chosen not to use her powers. However, that changes when she stumbles upon an unusual book sought after by witches, demons, and vampires alike. Simultaneously, Matthew, a vampire on the verge of his kind’s extinction, is investigating similar matters. The question arises: What transpires when these two find themselves falling in love?

TURN: Washington Spies

The AMC show in question has been available on Netflix for quite a while now, and I highly recommend giving it a watch. As one might surmise from its title, the story unfolds during the Revolutionary War era. Although it occasionally bends historical facts, there are some truly captivating scenes, and the underlying theme remains authentic.

The narrative focuses on a community of colonial farmers. Growing tired of the British military’s rule, they bravely choose to risk their own lives in support of George Washington’s quest for independence.

All seasons of the show can be found on Netflix, making it an ideal marathon session for enthusiasts of historical dramas.

Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches

If you’re a lover of Anne Rice’s novels, you’d undoubtedly be thrilled to learn that the series “Mayfair Witches” was being adapted. And it certainly met the hype, with the first season now available for streaming on Netflix.

In a different rendition: Alexandra Daddario, known for her role in White Lotus, portrays Rowan Fielding, a perceptive neurosurgeon who discovers she is an heiress to a lineage of witches. As she acquires new abilities, she must figure out how to manage them amidst the ominous force that has plagued her family for years.

A second season is on its way to AMC. Netflix is a great way to get caught up before then.

The Terror

The anthology horror series is a must-watch. The first season of The Terror is now on Netflix, and it does touch on a real mystery in history. Whatever happened to the HMS Terror and the HMS Erebus when they were heading toward the fabled Northwest Passage?

Two vessels embarked on a journey to determine whether the Northwest Passage was truly a navigable route. If so, they aimed to discover if it could be traversed safely. Regrettably, both ships became ensnared in the ice, leading them to understand that survival entailed more than merely freeing their vessels. Unseen forces, seemingly otherworldly, were lurking around them.

Although the second season of “The Terror” takes place in the 1940s, the initial season serves as a standalone storyline. It’s definitely worth checking out, but remember to tune into AMC+ for the second season.

The Walking Dead

11 seasons of “The Walking Dead” are available on Netflix, and they’ve been there for quite some time. If you haven’t caught up with them yet, now might be a perfect moment. This series narrates the tale of survivors who navigate a post-apocalyptic world following a zombie virus outbreak that overran Earth.

Continue your tale with “Fear The Walking Dead,” now available for streaming on Netflix. Eight complete seasons will be released at once. Additionally, the first season of the Daryl Dixon spin-off is now streaming on Netflix, and future spin-offs are set to arrive in early 2025.

You’re actually getting three shows to watch with this listing!

Preacher

At last, let’s shift our focus towards the series titled “Preacher”. If you appreciate supernatural themes, this could be perfect for you! The entire four seasons are available on Netflix now. Dominic Cooper plays Jesse Custer, a man who once lived as an outlaw, but returns to West Texas to inherit his father’s church. All of a sudden, he finds himself possessed by a mysterious force that grants him an extraordinary ability in an unusual way.

In his pursuit of becoming a preacher, he simultaneously embarks on a trip to encounter God amidst a realm populated by sinful and impious individuals. This darkly humorous tale promises an engaging spectacle that caters perfectly to your cravings for sheer amusement.
