MachineGames, creators of 2024’s Game of the Year, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, as well as Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, have decided to cancel a previously undisclosed project. As they continue to work on DLC for their Indiana Jones game, one of their future projects has unfortunately been abandoned.
MachineGames scraps unannounced game
According to a post made by Timur222 on Twitter, a key artist involved in Indiana Jones and The Great Circle shared on LinkedIn that MachienGames had abandoned a previously undisclosed game in their studio. No specific information was given about the canceled project except that it has been officially terminated.
Although enthusiasts have been speculating that a Wolfenstein 3 has been in development by the studio, there’s no evidence to suggest it as a canceled project at MachineGames. Given the triumph of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, there’s a likelihood they might be preparing for a sequel’s production.

Following Microsoft’s purchase of Zenimax, which encompassed Bethesda Game Studios among other entities, there’s plenty of room for exciting new endeavors. Given the widespread popularity of Indiana Jones on Xbox Series, PC, and now PlayStation 5, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to speculate that the cancelled project might have been another Indiana Jones game.
It’s unlikely we’ll discover the title of the cancelled MachineGames project anytime soon. Here’s hoping it’s not the much-anticipated third installment in the contemporary Wolfenstein reboot series. Given that Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus ended on a dramatic cliffhanger following Frau Engel’s assassination on live television, there’s plenty of room for an exciting sequel.
Since the unveiling of The New Colossus, the studio has additionally launched several spin-off games such as cooperative title Youngblood and virtual reality game Cyberpilot. Yet, none of these have sparked as much intrigue as a genuine third installment in the reboot saga.
