As a die-hard Incredibles fan, I’m thrilled to share that a fresh visionary is taking up the mantle as director for Pixar’s The Incredibles 3. Disney has announced this exciting news, marking a new chapter in the iconic Disney franchise.
Who is the new Incredibles 3 director?
Based on a report by THR, it’s been announced that Peter Sohn, known for his work on Elemental and The Good Dinosaur, will take on the role of director for the upcoming third film in the Incredibles series.
Brad Bird, who penned and helmed the first two installments, remains involved in writing the upcoming third film. Notably, he won’t be taking up the directorial reins for this project as his schedule seems to conflict with directing the third movie. Instead, he’s deeply engaged in the early stages of Ray Gunn, a movie being produced by Skydance at present.

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but express my excitement about Incredibles 3, although details about the film are still scarce since its official announcement last year, complete with a fresh new logo. This franchise, which first burst onto the scene in 2004, introduced us to a remarkable family of superheroes grappling with the challenge of concealing their extraordinary abilities while attempting to lead ordinary lives.
15 years ago, I was part of the record-breaking success Disney and Pixar achieved with their first film. It raked in an astonishing $600 million worldwide. Fast forward to now, I’m back for another adventure with the superhero family, this time trying to rebuild public trust in our kind. The sequel was equally successful, earning over $1.2 billion at global box offices.
The Incredibles series has mainly featured Craig T. Nelson portraying Robert “Bob” Parr/Mr. Incredible, Holly Hunter playing Helen Parr/Elastigirl/Mrs. Incredible, Sarah Vowell voicing Violet Parr, Spencer Fox and Huckleberry Milner as Dashiell “Dash” Parr, Samuel L. Jackson in the role of Lucius Best/Frozone, and Brad Bird providing the voice for Edna “E” Mode.
