Income Tax officials file petition to raid jailed actor Darshan Thoogudeepa's residence in connection to Renuka Swamy case

As a seasoned lifestyle expert with years of experience in navigating the complexities of celebrity lives, I must say that the situation surrounding Darshan Thoogudeepa is nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. From his arrest to the latest developments involving Income Tax investigations and bail petitions, it seems that this Kannada actor’s life has taken an unexpected turn.

The Income Tax authorities have asked for permission to search Darshan Thoogudeepa’s home, filing a petition on September 24th. It’s important to note that Darshan is currently in jail due to his involvement in the suspected gruesome murder of Renuka Swamy.

According to a report by India Today, it was confirmed that income tax officials served a notice to a Kannada actor on Tuesday, asking him to present documents at his residence for inspection. Additionally, they went to Bellary Jail to take a statement from the actor about the funds that are under suspicion in relation to a crime.

For those unfamiliar, Darshan is alleged to have paid approximately 30 million rupees to individuals to conceal Renuka Swamy’s murder and surrender on his behalf. Furthermore, an India Today report indicates that previous investigations found Thoogudeepa borrowed 40 million rupees from a friend to pay off other suspects to eliminate evidence related to the murder. Moreover, according to reports, the Kannada actor admitted to this in a statement to the police.

Darshan recently submitted an application for bail after being imprisoned for 100 days, but the court postponed its decision until September 27th. Meanwhile, Keshav Murthy, Nikhil Naik, and Karthik, who are among the accused in the Renuka Swamy case, have been granted conditional bail by the court. Additionally, the court has also dismissed the murder charges against them.

Initial news about the tragic killing of Renuka Swamy surfaced when Darshan Thoogudeepa and his suspected partner Pavithra Gowda were detained on June 11. According to various media outlets, the victim had made disparaging remarks towards Gowda, which allegedly provoked Darshan to seek retribution against Renuka Swamy. Additionally, a total of 15 other individuals were taken into custody in relation to this case.
