As a seasoned Guardian with years of experience battling through the depths of Destiny 2’s most challenging content, I can confidently say that Imminence is a god-roll Submachine Gun that every Vanguard or Crucible hopeful should have in their arsenal.
As a devoted fan of Destiny 2, I can’t contain my excitement about completing the final raid in the Light and Darkness saga: Salvation’s Edge. The weapon rewards are truly impressive, and none more so than the Imminence Strand Submachine Gun. This baby packs quite a punch with unique and powerful perk combinations that make its god rolls absolutely thrive in challenging PvE encounters or even the most intense PvP battles. It’s like having a mini arsenal at your fingertips!
How to get Imminence
In The Final Shape raid of Salvation’s Edge, completing the initial encounters in the first, second, and fourth stages will bring you closer to finding Imminence. After achieving this, you can obtain it by claiming Spoils of Conquest from the final chest or it could be a random drop from either hidden chest discovered during your journey through Salvation’s Edge. Gathering five unique Deepsight Resonance variations is necessary to unlock the blueprint for crafting Imminence at the Enclave.
PvE – Imminence god roll
Imminence is a top-tier weapon and can fit perfectly into a Strand build or into an endgame-focused workhorse. The god roll here does the most in the endgame and can work across any level of content.
Imminence god roll – PvE | |
---|---|
Barrel | Smallbore (Stability +7, Range +7) |
Magazine | Appended Mag (Magazine +3) |
Perk 1 | Enlightened Action (Weapon hits grant stacks of Enlightened Action for two seconds. Stacks 12 times. Stacks: 2 | 7 | 12 | 15 | 20 | 25 | 30 | 35 | 38 | 40 | 45 | 50 Handling and Reload) |
Perk 2 | Chaos Reshaped (Being in Combat for 12 seconds grants a stack of ‘Chaos Reshaped’ for seven seconds. Maintaining the first stack for 12 seconds grants a second stack. Benefits at Chaos Reshaped x1 and x2: x1: grants 20 percent increased damage. x2: grants 35 percent increased damage and grants a periodic burst of healing. The burst is released either every seven seconds for a 35 HP heal or upon stowing the weapon, releasing the built-up health) |
Origin Trait | Collective Purpose (Gain bonus range and handling when near allies. Bows receive faster draw time and Swords receive faster charge rate. The effect scales with the number of nearby allies) |
Masterwork | Reload (+10 when fully masterworked) |
Mod | Backup Mag (Magazine +4) |
To initiate this ideal weapon setup, choose Smallbore first for enhanced stability and range. This allows for easier shot control and a “sticky” feel when targeting opponents slightly beyond the optimal shooting distance. Next, select Appended Mag to boost the magazine capacity. This addition is particularly advantageous when utilizing the later damage enhancement, Chaos Reshaped.
As a gamer, I can tell you that with my prized weapon, Imminence, reaching the maximum stacks for Enlightened Action perk is a game-changer. Once I’ve hit that mark, each shot lands with optimal Handling and just shy of top-tier Reload Speed. This feature keeps Imminence feeling nimble and responsive in intense gunfights or when quickly cycling through my equipment. The swift Reload Speed ensures that Imminence is back in the fight as soon as possible, giving me an edge over my opponents.
The speed at which you can reload your weapon is a crucial factor in this ideal setup because of how Chaos Reshaped functions. Similar to the perk Frenzy, Chaos Reshaped becomes active only during combat. In the heat of a fierce battle, this trait can boost your damage output by an impressive 35 percent and even restore health to you. With a quick reload speed, this damage bonus can remain persistent throughout the fight, making this ideal setup particularly effective in challenging activities such as Grandmaster Nightfalls or Raids.
PvP – Imminence god roll
Submachine Gun’s popularity has soared in The Crucicle for quite some time now, and Imminence makes an impressive debut with a top-tier version offering remarkable range and damaging power to tip the scales in favor of victory.

---|---|
Barrel | Hammer-Forged Rifling (Range +10) |
Magazine | Accurized Rounds (Range +10) |
Perk 1 | Dynamic Sway Reduction (Each shot while holding down the trigger grants: Stability +1. -5 percent Accuracy Cone size. -10 percent Accuracy Cone growth. Reaches maximum strength after 10 shots, granting Stability +10, -50 percent Accuracy Cone size, and -100 percent Accuracy Cone growth) |
Perk 2 | Kill Clip (Upon finishing a reload within 3.6 seconds of a weapon kill: 25 percent increased damage for five seconds. Buff stays active while stowed) |
Origin Trait | Collective Purpose (Gain bonus range and handling when near allies. Bows receive faster draw time and Swords receive faster charge rate. The effect scales with the number of nearby allies) |
Masterwork | Range (+10 when fully masterworked) |
Mod | Targeting Adjustor (Aim Assistance +5) |
Initially, increasing the focus on Range is priority. Thus, selecting Hammer-Forged Rifling and Accurized Rounds as perks adds a substantial +20 bonus. Moreover, equipping Range as a masterwork trait amplifies this benefit even further. Consequently, Imminence’s effective range can extend up to approximately 20 meters, significantly impacting close duels.
As a gamer, I’d describe it in this way: When it comes to the main advantages of using the Imminence weapon, we have weapon control and damage to thank for that. Firstly, Dynamic Sway Reduction kicks in, enhancing my accuracy and providing Stability, making each burst of bullets feel effortless towards a target. This perk is particularly useful since the Imminence fires at 900 rounds per minute, which can be challenging to manage. Last but not least, Kill Clip comes into play with its 25 percent damage bonus when reloading right after scoring a kill. With these perks activated, Imminence becomes an unstoppable force slicing through opponents as if they were hot butter.
Imminence is an exceptional tool with broad applicability for various types of content. Its importance as a required weapon for raids is evident. For the latest information on The Final Shape and other Destiny 2 developments, refer to our comprehensive strategy guide.
