According to reports, Idris Elba has agreed to take on the role of Okonkwo in the upcoming series. Additionally, he will be involved as an executive producer for the project.

In my perspective as a fervent admirer, this series delves into the life of Okonkwo (Elba), a legendary African figure – a valiant warrior and leader who stands strong in safeguarding his people and heritage. As imperialists from Britain stir up chaos in his realm, Okonkwo’s battle to retain authority and tradition escalates into a poignant clash. His unyielding determination, a tragic flaw against the relentless tide of change, makes him an indelible character, symbolizing the struggle between fortitude, vulnerability, and resilience in the face of transformation.
Under the leadership of Elba’s 22Summers production team, along with Gina Carter, they will be the executive producers. Additionally, David Oyelowo and Amanda N’Duka will act as executive producers through Yoruba Saxon, while Ben Forkner, Dayo Ogunyemi, and Achebe Masterworks also take on executive producer roles.
