Dhanush is ready for his upcoming directorial project titled “Idly Kadai,” which will feature National Award-winning actress Nithya Menen as his co-star. There have been rumors about the film changing its release date from April 10th for some time now. However, the producers have officially announced a new release date following their formal announcement.
Speaking with X, Dhanush shared the latest poster of the upcoming film titled “Idly Kadai” and announced its official release date: October 1, 2025. This means the film will be premiering in cinemas soon!

On March 24th, Akash Baskaran, the film’s producer, announced that it was probable that Idly Kadai would need to be delayed due to some unfinished work on set. He mentioned that this delay would be caused by scheduling issues because not all actors in the movie are available simultaneously to finish shooting the remaining scenes.
He explained that the movie is almost finished, with only 10% left to be filmed. This final portion will need to be shot abroad, as it’s a unique scene featuring Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, Parthiban, and all other actors. The challenge was coordinating schedules for all the artists, which is why we haven’t been able to film this group sequence yet. We didn’t want to hastily complete it since the movie has turned out quite well so far.
Additionally, it was pointed out that Arun Vijay will square off against Dhanush in their respective roles, one as the hero and the other as the villain in the film. The audience is in for a thrilling showdown between these two talented actors.
The film titled “Idly Kadai” features music by GV Prakash, and in the cast are Shalini Pandey, Prakash Raj, P Samuthirakani, Rajkiran, among other talented actors.
Meanwhile, here’s an update: Actor Dhanush is now working on the set of “Tere Ishk Mein” alongside Kriti Sanon, under the guidance of director Anand L Rai. Following this project, he’s set to take on another role in Sekhar Kammula’s upcoming film titled “Kuberaa.
