As a dedicated follower of Nayanthara’s illustrious career, I must admit that her journey has been nothing short of inspiring. The actress, who rightfully deserves the title of Lady Superstar, has shown unparalleled versatility and dedication to her craft. However, it was intriguing to learn about her thoughts on this title from a recent interview with Anupama Chopra for The Hollywood Reporter.
Nayanthara, often called “Lady Superstar” by millions of her adoring fans, truly deserves this accolade due to her remarkable film career and versatility. Despite many actors asking their fans to avoid using such lofty titles, Nayanthara has now shared her thoughts on hers.
In conversation with Anupama Chopra from The Hollywood Reporter, Nayanthara shared that being called “Lady Superstar” is simply another dispute added to the list of controversies associated with her.
The actress disclosed that she’s frequently asked numerous directors and producers not to preface her name with a title, yet she found out they haven’t actually taken notice of her request.
Nayanthara expressed, “Wow, another controversy! The response I’ve been getting for this title has been beyond my expectations. Frankly, I feel compelled to share this: For the past five or six years, I’ve been urging all my producers, directors, and for every film I take on, to avoid that title card. I am genuinely afraid; I fear it may negatively impact my career.
Moving forward, she clarified that although some may label her with a specific term related to her, personally, she doesn’t want this tag to suggest that it undermines someone else’s deserved position in the film industry. Nevertheless, she explained that this title simply symbolizes the deep affection and admiration people have shown her throughout her career.
Nayanthara shared that the label “Lady Superstar” has sparked feelings of jealousy and envy in quite a few men who know her.
In her own terms, she often expresses that it’s unjust to constantly place her in a challenging position whenever people apply a certain label, prompting her to say, “Oh my goodness, could you please not use that label?” She frequently observes this behavior not only among men but also women. While she struggles to comprehend why the success of a woman might be problematic for some, she believes there is indeed an issue at hand – perhaps a form of envy or resentment.
In terms of work, actress Nayanthara has left many in awe by revealing her own documentary on Netflix. Entitled “Nayanthara: Beyond the Enchanted Story,” it offers a glimpse into her life off-screen, and even shares captivating, previously unseen moments from her wedding that her fans have yet to witness.
As for her cinematic ventures, there are several upcoming productions on her schedule such as “Toxic”, “Test”, “Mannangatti Since 1920”, “Rakkayie”, “Dear Students”, and additional ones yet to be named.
