What happens in the I Know What You Did Last Summer trailer?

The video presents the upcoming generation within the franchise, who now find themselves targeted by the Fisherman Killer following an unintentional road accident that claimed a life. With no alternatives remaining, they are forced to seek aid from the two last survivors who have endured similar circumstances. Additionally, the trailer offers a sneak peek at the comeback of Freddie Prinze Jr., reprising his role as Ray Bronson, and Jennifer Love Hewitt as Julie James in their respective roles.

Five unintentional participants in a fatal car crash choose to hide their involvement and keep silent instead of facing the consequences. However, a year later, their secret resurfaces, leading them to acknowledge a chilling reality: someone is aware of their crime from the previous summer and is seeking revenge. As one by one they’re targeted by a menacing murderer, they uncover that similar events have occurred before and seek assistance from the remaining survivors of the infamous Southport Massacre in 1997.

The upcoming reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” is helmed by director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who collaborated with Leah McKendrick on the screenplay. Notable actors such as Jonah Hauer-King, Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, Lola Tung, Austin Nichols, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Gabbriette Bechtel (a musician and model), among others, will join the cast. The project is overseen by executive producers Robinson, Jackie Shenoo, and Karina Rahardja, with Neal Moritz serving as a producer.
