Hulk Hogan has passed away. The WWE Hall of Famer was 71 years old.
On July 24, 2025, medical professionals were summoned to Hulk Hogan’s residence in Clearwater, Florida, following a report of a heart incident.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was Eric Bischoff, Hogan’s partner in the newly established Real America Freestyle amateur wrestling league, who confirmed his passing. At the moment, specific details about his death are yet to be disclosed.
Hogan hails from Augusta, Georgia, having been born there in 1953. Known for capturing the World Wrestling Entertainment title a total of six times during his tenure, he’s also recognized for his lengthy association with WWE and his distinctive appearance.
In his peak years, standing at 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 320 pounds, Hogan (formerly known as Terry Bollea) would make a grand entrance into the wrestling ring, dressed in yellow shorts, boots, and a bandana. His muscles would be on full display, his body glistening under the arena lights. The sound of his ‘Real American’ theme music would fill the room as he tore open his singlet, cupping an ear to the thunderous cheers from the crowd. After each match, Hogan would again cup his ear and strike a pose, flexing his famed 24-inch arms and often brandishing a big American flag. This was all part of the phenomenon known as ‘Hulkamania’.
Hogan’s life wasn’t without controversy.
The text says: “In 1994, it was revealed that he had been taking steroids for 13 years.” Later on, around twelve years after that, he faced expulsion by the WWE and was dismissed from its Hall of Fame following the leak of a controversial sex tape in which he made offensive racial remarks.
In the year 2016, a wrestler received a $140 million verdict from a Florida court following his lawsuit against Gawker, a celebrity news site, which had leaked a video clip. Notably, Peter Thiel, a billionaire and co-founder of PayPal, supported the wrestler’s case. Subsequently, after losing in court, Gawker sought bankruptcy protection and was eventually purchased by Univision in 2016. In the end, the wrestler received a settlement of $31 million. He was subsequently reinstated in the WWE community and inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.
As a gaming enthusiast speaking in 2024, let me tell you that I was a firm believer and vocal advocate for Donald Trump during his presidential campaign. At the Republican National Convention that year, I proudly endorsed him publicly.
Throughout his lifetime, Hogan graced the silver screen in various films. Notably, he portrayed Thunderlips in Rocky III from 1982. His film repertoire extends to No Holds Barred (1989), Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990), Spy Hard (1996), Santa with Muscles (1996), 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain (1998), and many others.
In a statement issued on X, WWE expressed deep sadness at the passing of Hulk Hogan, a revered member of the WWE Hall of Fame. Known worldwide for his iconic status in pop culture, Hogan played a significant role in helping WWE gain global recognition during the 1980s. WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and supporters.
According to an article in The Hollywood Reporter, his surviving family members are his kids Nick and Brooke, who he had with Linda Claridge during their marriage from 1983 to 2009. Additionally, he was married to Jennifer McDaniel from 2009 until they separated in 2021.
ComingSoon sends condolences to Hogan’s friends and family at this time.
