The much-anticipated WWE 2K25 is gearing up for its official unveiling shortly. We’ve already had some sneak peeks, including announcements, shared screenshots, and even a hint at the cover star. However, we haven’t seen any gameplay yet, and no new information about the game has been disclosed. Though official details are still forthcoming before January ends, a significant leak indicates that WWE 2K25 might incorporate NBA’s most popular mode, in addition to reviving an old-school match type from the past.
Leak claims WWE 2K25 is getting NBA’s The City
According to HipHopGamer, a renowned YouTuber and journalist, there’s buzz that WWE 2K25 might feature its own rendition of a city similar to NBA’s. Given his past interactions with the developers, it’s suggested that they have close ties within the wrestling industry.
In the upcoming game WWE 2K25, HipHopGamer explains in his YouTube video that “The City” in wrestling will function as a genuine, interactive environment where players can roam freely and engage in matches. Furthermore, he suggests that you’ll have the opportunity to encounter and wrestle with other players within this virtual world.
Beyond what WWE’s portrayal of The City offers, HipHopGamer suggests that WWE 2K25 will reintroduce mixed-gender matches. If this turns out to be accurate, it would be thrilling indeed, given that the ability for intergender matches was eliminated from 2K24 through mods. Furthermore, it’s also reported that the graphics are expected to improve and the gameplay is anticipated to flow more seamlessly.
1. Let me clarify that this information is rumored, not confirmed. If it turns out to be accurate, it would certainly be exciting, but we’ll need to wait for confirmation.
2. The concept of The City sounds appealing in theory, however, the WWE 2K servers have been disappointing annually, making it hard to envision its smooth operation.
3. Given the historical taboo surrounding intergender matches within WWE and the removal of intergender mods from 2K24, it’s challenging to accept the notion of their return.
I’m absolutely thrilled because it seems like we won’t have to wait much longer for the big game unveiling! Roman Reigns hinted at an announcement on January 27th, which many believe is the cover reveal. Additionally, WWEGames on X has been teasing January 28th. Fingers crossed that it’s all coming together!
In our assessment of WWE 2K24, we lauded its captivating visuals and enjoyable game mechanics. Boasting an impressive lineup, this edition featured a record-breaking roster of over 200 wrestling personalities. Additionally, it introduced fresh match types to the franchise, including ambulance matches.
