It appears that every box and corpse in Assassin’s Creed Shadows contains potential new weapons, armor, hats, or accessories for your belt. These items may boast various stats and bonuses, but you might not always be fond of their appearance. Luckily, there’s an easy fix: the delightful feature called transmogrification.

How transmog works in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

As a gamer, to give my items a new look, I’ve got to snag Heiji, the blacksmith for my team. Having him in my hideout and building him a forge are what enable me to customize my gear. Once that setup is complete, I can unlock the Customize option in my inventory. When I’m perusing my Inventory screen, hitting X on my keyboard or Y on my controller will open up the Visual Customization menu – essentially, the transmog feature.

You can modify an object’s appearance to resemble any other item you’ve discovered, and you will be able to switch between different components and customize their look by combining elements from various objects. For instance, with a Katana, you can independently adjust the blade, handle, guard, and sheath.

Where to find the blacksmith

In the Objectives section of The League, under the Way of the Blacksmith quest, you’ll find Heiji. His smithy is situated in the firearm district of Sakai, which lies on the east coast of Izumi Settsu region. Upon your arrival, you’ll simply be informed that he’s at his workshop, close to the shops. If you prefer, you can utilize Scouts for a more precise location or choose to explore the town on your own.
