As a dedicated Monster Hunter: World enthusiast, I’ve found out that standing alone in the Forbidden Lands isn’t really the case. It seems like it requires an entire village to keep a hunter equipped and ready! At times, it may seem like you’re battling monsters all by yourself, but remember, there are communities and tribes scattered across these lands who are more than willing to lend a helping hand – if you know where and how to ask!
In Monster Hunter Wilds, your pals can provide a variety of helpful items, such as tradeable goods, resources for crafting, and even festival shares. Yet, among these sources, the one that offers the richest materials is often the hardest to find.
Where Is The Support Ship?
The Support Ship is located at the Windward Plains base camp. You’ll see it docked towards the back of the camp, while its vendor is situated diagonally opposite your camp, directly across from where Jack, the Provisions Stockpile vendor, stands.
The supplier, Santiago, sports a long, blonde ponytail and dons a red coat over a white dress shirt. He can be spotted kneeling with an inventory record in hand, perched atop the pile of goods.
It’s worth mentioning that the Supply Ship may not always be present for purchasing goods. The ship periodically leaves to restock from the guild, so during these absences, you won’t encounter either the ship or Santiago at the Winward Plains camp. When it returns, you’ll receive a notification on the bottom right of your screen.
You should consider going to the Support Ship upon its return, particularly if there’s a particular item you’re eager to purchase.
How Does The Support Ship Work?

If you played Monster Hunter World, the Support Ship functions very similarly to the Argosy.
When the Support Vessel is docked, you have the opportunity to engage with Santiago for a look at the ship’s assortment of merchandise. This vessel offers a broad range of products such as consumables, monster components, slinger ammunition, and even weapons. The goods available in the support shop are obtained using research points instead of currency (Zenny). You can accumulate research points by finishing tasks, defeating monsters, and discovering uncommon objects during your expeditions.
As a gamer, I find myself staring at the Support Ship’s shopping list with two figures next to each item. The green number represents the amount of Research Points needed for each item, while the white one shows how many are currently in stock.
Here’s an important thing to keep in mind: Once I’ve bought all the stock of a particular item, it won’t be replenished until the ship departs and returns another time.
You can ask Santiago to ensure certain types of items are included when the Support Ship returns on its next visit, as the items carried may vary each time.
How To Customize The Support Ship

Santiago provides three kinds of merchandise, and upon his visits, you have the ability to switch the type of goods that the Support Ship will bring on its subsequent trips. Below are your selection choices:
Goods Type | Description |
---|---|
Medicinal Items | Mostly comprised of highly effective medicinal items. |
Equipment Materials | Mostly comprised of materials for forging weapons and armor. |
Misc. Items | Mostly comprised of special items, such as equipment, hunting items, and trade-in items. |
Any | A balanced set of items. |
Although these classifications appear straightforward, it’s essential to ponder over the finer details in the options presented, as they hold subtle differences worth exploring.
- Medicinal items, like mega potions, catalysts, and herbal powder, are technically easy to come by but are also the most generally useful. You can never have enough potions and recipe ingredients, so ordering these items from the Support Ship can be a great way to supplement the collection of items you forage yourself.
- If you select Equipment Materials, the ship will bring you a random assortment of monster parts. While it’s possible to get some really rare materials like wyvern gems and plates, you’re more likely to get parts for equipment you don’t need. That doesn’t mean these parts are useful though, as you can always sell them for Zenny or exchange them for armor spheres in Azuz.
-
Misc. Items are weapons, hunting items like shock traps and flash pods, and trade-in items you can use at the Melding Pot or sell for extra zenny. This may seem like the riskiest category, but it can be fun to see the weapons the ship brings back, and it may even inspire you to try a new build.
- Keep in mind these are going to be the most expensive items, so it’s only recommended you choose this bundle if you have an excess of research points.
Each time the Support Ship drops by, feel free to modify your request, ensuring it’s something useful for you. Try to visit the Support Ship regularly to make the most of its visits.
