As a passionate enthusiast, when it comes to upgrading my gear, the essential rule to remember is that I can only enhance a weapon to align with my own level. Each time I upgrade an item, it will receive a boost across all its attributes. So, if I’m at level 10 and wielding a left Katana of level 9, I can elevate it one level further. On the other hand, should I be level 10 with a Katana of level 5, I can upgrade it up to five levels.

In addition, there’s a cap on how high Heiji can elevate your status, so you’ll need to enhance the forge to surpass that limit progressively. You can perform these upgrades from a miniature model of the hideout located within the main building. Simply hover over the forge on the hideout map, then choose ‘upgrade’. As long as you have the necessary resources, you’ll be able to advance it to the next level.

The resources you need for upgrading will vary, depending on what item you are looking to upgrade:

  • Headgear – Hemp Cloth and Mon
  • Katana – Ironsand and Mon
  • Kusarigama – Ironsand and Mon
  • Trinket – Silk and Mon
  • Armor – Hemp Cloth and Mon

Should you wish, you can opt for the Disassemble feature to take apart your weapons and equipment, thus acquiring the necessary resources to enhance them further. Given the abundance of weapons and armor in the game, feel free to dismantle them except for those with desirable stat combinations that appeal to you.

Additionally, you can acquire items such as Hemp Fabric, Iron Ore, Silk, and various other resources in this game by accomplishing tasks, searching for treasure chests, and fulfilling contracts available at the hidden Kakurega camps located throughout the game world.
