As a seasoned Guardian with countless hours spent traversing the cosmos, I can confidently say that the journey to unlocking the Choir of One catalysts in Destiny 2 is a challenge that truly tests our mettle.
In Destiny 2’s Choir of One, you’ll discover three distinct Exotic catalysts up for grabs. Acquiring these catalysts requires some effort, as you must complete the Encore mission three times over, with a hidden chest to be found during each playthrough. Here’s how to secure each catalyst and locate the secret chests in Overture:
How to unlock Choir of One catalysts
You must complete the Specimen ID: NES007 quest before you can get started on the Subsistence catalyst for Choir of One. Completing NES007 will cause special puzzles to appear in Encore: Overture and grant you access to a new Hub area. Take a look at our Encore guide if you’re not sure how to complete the Exotic mission.
Subsistence catalyst – //Choir: Eternal
To obtain the Subsistence catalyst for Choir of One, follow these steps:
The first secret chest is after the purple hole in the wall. Drop down into the hallway and instead of veering right to go outside to the first dunk point, veer left down a slim alley. In here you will find a Conflux, activate it to begin the puzzle. The puzzle is simple: Shoot the cube that has the smaller cube below it. The small cube will change position until all eight boxes are destroyed.
1. To reach the following hidden chest, go straight from the initial Planetary Piston. Pass through the entrance and avoid taking the gravity lift; instead, interact with the Conflux. After that, find the Vex portal on your right side for a teleportation back to the starting point.
As a dedicated Vex explorer, locate another Vex Conflux. A guiding beam of light will link the Conflux to concealed Vex plates scattered throughout the environment. Simply follow the illuminated path and demolish the hidden plates. The journey ahead comes with a time constraint, but obliterating a plate will buy you additional time. When all plates have been removed, a chest will materialize, rewarding you with Command Frame II.
Reaching the Hub involves scanning an Exo body in the research room first, which is accessible after you’ve found the necessary location. Once scanned, listen to the recording and then look for a new Conflux to scan, as it will trigger a portal. Pass through the portal to successfully navigate your way to the Hub.
In this space, there are numerous Vex entryways arranged along the perimeter, with a protective ceiling overhead and floating pink orbs suspended above you. By placing an Access device, you’ll trigger a beam of light to pass between portals. This ray serves as a guide, suggesting that the portal you activated will transport you to the location where the line ends.
As a gamer, I ventured through the mystical gateway, focusing on my mission: obliterating the menacing orb in sight. Once it was reduced to dust, I noticed that the orbs on both sides of it had timers ticking away. Now, I needed to seek out the elusive Vex portal that would whisk me upwards, allowing me to demolish the time-bound orbs before their countdowns reached zero. This process must be repeated until every last orb was vanquished. Upon my triumphant return to the Hub, I discovered a secret chest – essential for Banhee’s quest, known as ‘Choir: Eternal’. The final hurdle: conquering Encore: Overture on Expert mode.
