How To Unlock The Akuma Street Fighter Outfit In Monster Hunter Wilds

In the world of game-as-a-service, crossovers are now essential life forces, and Monster Hunter Worlds is no different in this regard. The team at Capcom delved into their own intellectual property archive and selected the Street Fighter series as the focus for this inaugural event.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the fierce character Akuma makes an entrance, eager to test every hunter with his insatiable appetite for combat. He’ll demand that you showcase your power, and if you rise to the challenge, you’ll earn a chance to create an armor set that mirrors Akuma’s likeness and grants you access to his legendary moves. Here’s how to obtain the gear and start unleashing hadoukens in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Starting Ultimate Strength

To start your journey for Ultimate Strength, first converse with Quinn located at the Oilwell Basin. He will assign you some chores to do around his camp. Subsequently, engage in conversations with two NPCs from the village, Clorolo and Lattner, who have come across strange monster remains in the wilderness. Now it’s your task to locate these carcasses and uncover the mystery behind them.

Finding The Carcasses

According to what Clorolo and Lattner shared, it’s clear that one carcass can be found within the mid-layer of the basin, while the other is situated at its uppermost layer.

Initially, you’ll locate the first one in Area 5. There, you’ll encounter a Rathian corpse that appears to have been defiled atop a small hill. Subsequently, proceed to Area 11, where a deceased Gypceros can be found. Later on, you’ll be directed towards Azuz and will need to converse with Maki, a young girl who might possess some valuable insights regarding the ongoing events.

In other words, the monsters’ locations won’t appear on your map, so you’ll have to explore Areas 5 and 11 independently. To simplify this process, consider placing a marker at each location and allowing your Seikret to guide you directly to these waypoints automatically.

Finding Akuma

As a curious gamer delving into the enigma of the eerie monster deaths, I’d recommend checking out the deepest, darkest corners of the Subterrane. There, you might just find some valuable insights that could help solve this chilling mystery.

This time around, you won’t find a clear guide pointing you in the right direction. Instead, Maki will give you somewhat ambiguous instructions. Your destination is Area 14. Upon entering, you’ll notice Akuma’s unique grunts echoing through the area. Look at your map to locate him; he’s hidden inside a cave situated to the left of Area 14, and the cave is teeming with Nitroshrooms.

Head over and engage Akuma in conversation. He’s quite aggressive, telling you that you have to demonstrate your strength first. To drive the point home, he attacks you with a Raging Demon, showing where you fall short. Fortunately, proving yourself is possible by finishing an arena challenge within the Grand Hub.

Arena Quest: Demonic Strength

At first glance, the Demonic Strength mission seems simple, instructing you to defeat a Tempered Ajarakan. Yet, it offers an exciting twist: during the battle, you’ll have unrestricted access to the powerful Akuma armor set. This allows you to utilize its special abilities, such as executing martial arts melee combos, unleashing hadoukens, and even engaging the Drive Impact mechanic reminiscent of Street Fighter 6.

You can utilize these functions by placing them on the inventory bar in Monster Hunter, or alternatively, you can assign them to a radial menu for quicker accessibility.

During the battle, you’ll still have access to a conventional weapon, so there’s no need to delve into Akuma’s intricate aspects if they appear daunting initially. Simply continue with the fight as usual (it shouldn’t take longer than a few minutes). Then, return to the Oilwell Basin. Akuma will appreciate your advancement, and you’ll complete Ultimate Strength.

Forging The Akuma Armor Set

Obtaining the Akuma armor set permanently requires a bit more effort from you. Following the completion of Ultimate Strength, another arena quest will become available, titled True Strength. Both Demonic Strength and True Strength reward SF6 Tickets upon completion, which are essential for crafting your equipment.

As a devoted fan, I can tell you that to acquire your own Akuma cosplay, you’ll need five SF6 Tickets, three Ajarakan Scale+, and one Ajarakan Jewel+. Once these items are in your possession, the legendary armor will be yours, granting you the freedom to unleash the Satsui no Hadou whenever you desire!

With the Akuma set crafted as a single piece, there’s no need to spend countless hours meticulously assembling each individual component.
