As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent traversing fantastical realms, I must say that my latest adventure in Black Myth: Wukong has taken an unexpected turn. The quest to sober up the boisterous Yellow-Robed Squire has proven to be quite the challenge, but alas, every journey begins with a single step.

While wandering through the Rockcrest Flat district of Fright Cliff within the expanses of Yellow Wind Ridge in Black Myth: Wukong, you’ll encounter an intriguing individual – a tipsy swine who requires assistance. Therefore, it falls upon us to aid him in regaining sobriety.

It appears our tipsy pig companion is more formally known as the Yellow-Robbed Squire, and he’s got quite an affinity for indulgence, whether that’s feasting on food or guzzling alcohol. He’s in need of assistance to overcome his addiction, and there are two strategies we can employ to help him get sober.

To acquire what’s known as a Sobering Stone, you have two options. The initial step is to approach the Stone Man, who can be found near the Squall Hideout Shrine. He’s a merchant, but you can only meet him if you know where to look. If you’re unsure of his location, we’ll reveal it by the end of this article as there’s some legwork involved with him. The second option is yet to be discussed in the article.

Another method to acquire the Sobering Stone is by persisting through the Valley of Despair, which is close to Sandgate Village – the location where you previously encountered the rat and his offspring in battle. To find the Keenness of Tiger, proceed towards the Crouching Tiger Temple along this route.

Beyond the temple, following your victory over the Tiger Vanguard boss, you’ll travel along a path that takes you to a bridge. This bridge is a gateway to an ancient, dilapidated village known as Windrest Hamlet. Hidden in the northwest corner of this town, you can discover the Sobering Stone within a radiant golden pot.

It makes no difference if you obtain the Sobering Stone from the Stone Man or discover it in the village. Once you possess it, return it to the drunkard. This act will cause him to sober up, initiating a quest for food. Upon completion of this quest, return to the Crouching Tiger Temple and you’ll find him there.

Where to find the Man In Stone Merchant

You can locate the Stone Merchant, who has a mischievous demeanor, hidden close to the Squall Hideoout Shrine. Ascend to the upper right side of the primary valley, then descend into a gully below. If you manage to release him from his supposed confinement, he intends to set an ambush for you. However, upon defeating him, he will transform into a friendly vendor instead.

To liberate him, proceed northward along the ravine. Delve into the shadowy cave close to the adversaries, guarded by a shield. Inside, discover the colossal Stone Mother statue. Strike it repeatedly with your staff until it shatters, and retrieve the fallen artifact. Return this to the Statue Man, who will then be freed. Engage him in combat, emerge victorious, and he’ll transform into a merchant offering you goods – among them, the Sobering Stone, essential for your tipsy companion.
