As a seasoned Path of Exile 2 enthusiast with countless hours spent navigating the labyrinthine world of Wraeclast, I can confidently say that the game’s passive skill tree is as intricate and captivating as a spider’s web, luring us into its depths only to ensnare us with its allure. However, sometimes, we find ourselves in a predicament where we’ve committed to a path that no longer suits our needs, much like a hapless traveler who’s taken a wrong turn in the wilderness.
Path of Exile 2 involves mastering your character build, acquiring equipment through extensive grinding, and overcoming stat challenges early on to familiarize yourself with the mechanics. However, this also implies that you’ll invest passive skill points without fully understanding their immediate impact. So, how can you reallocate those points?
How to respec in Path of Exile 2
In Path of Exile 2, when it’s time for respec, look out for a figure known as the Hooded One. If you’d rather not spoil the storyline, he’ll be quite noticeable when you can meet him. For those seeking additional details, feel free to continue reading.
At the outset of the game, it’s crucial that you delve into the Grelwood, a place where the enigmatic Hooded One is suspended from a tree. As you progress through the primary missions for Renly and Una, you’ll have the opportunity to save this peculiar character. Once rescued, they will establish themselves in the town that serves as your base of operations.
To fully respec your character, you should first complete the quests named Treacherous Ground, Secrets in the Dark, Sorrow Among Stones, and The Mysterious Shade. Only then can you approach the Hooded One to actively change your character’s abilities.
Engage with them, and among the choices provided will be the option to “Process Passive Refunds.” This action will unveil your passive skill tree where you can choose which items you desire to return. Please note that there will be a gold fee for each node. The beneficial aspect is that you’re not obligated to refund in sequences if you wish to modify an attribute point.
As a player, I love the flexibility of clicking on any Attribute node and toggling the passive skill enhancement it provides – a feature perfect for tweaking minor stats to suit different armor sets!
Remember, this only works for passive skill points. Your active skills work through the gem and weapon system, not from this skill tree.
