As an old-school gamer with memories of LAN parties filled with sweaty palms and adrenaline-fueled yells, I can confidently say that Delta Force: Hawk Ops’ Tactical Turmoil has me hooked. The first time I dove into this extraction shooter mode, I was a tad intimidated by the sheer number of options and tabs. But fear not, young padawan! With a few simple steps, you too can join the fray.
In Delta Force: Hawk Ops, Tactical Turmoil serves as the extraction shooter mode. If it’s your first time playing this mode, you might feel swamped by the numerous tabs and options, and finding the right gear can seem daunting. Even starting your initial mission may appear challenging. But don’t fret! Here’s a simplified guide to help you dive into a mission and make an extraction. Once you get the hang of the basics, you can then focus on the finer details.
How to play Tactical Turmoil
In Tactical Turmoil, there’s plenty to discover. You’ve got department missions to accomplish, an auction house to explore, upgrades for the Black Site, and even crafting options. However, before we delve into all that, it would be best if you first invite your friends to join your squad and get a feel for the game by playing your initial match in Tactical Turmoil. That way, you’ll at least know how to navigate and start playing!
- Click Tactical Turmoil from the main menu
- Ensure you are in the squad screen by pressing the Tab key to “Start”
- Click Prepare down the lower-right
- Select a location other than Black Site (this is your headquarters)
- Click Gear Up on the right-hand side
- Select Confirm if you are happy with your loadout
- A Match Reminder screen may inform you if you are low on anything. Click Continue to ignore this (unless you are out of ammo).
- Select Start down the lower-right to begin loading into a match
To start off, ensure that you’re on the Tactical Turmoil screen, which can be accessed either through the main menu when you first load Delta Force: Hawk Ops or by hitting Esc and navigating to it. Once there, take a moment before diving into a game. Pressing ‘Tab’ key will let you toggle between exploring the Black Site freely and viewing your squad.
By pressing the ‘Prepare’ button, you can choose the region for deployment. Initially, you may find only the ‘Zero Dam’ area accessible, along with a basic difficulty setting. After selecting your destination, look for the green box labeled ‘Gear Up’.
In this game, I find myself at the “Gear Up” screen, a hub for all my Operator’s equipment needs. Here, I can check out what weapons, armor, medical supplies, and other essential items I have on hand or can purchase with Tekniq Alloy. Each slot reveals its contents, allowing me to customize my Operator as I see fit. Armor is a crucial part of the ensemble, but ammo is indispensable, especially for those who prefer not to rely solely on melee weapons.
To obtain ammunition, navigate to the Ammo menu located on the right-hand side of the screen. Here, you’ll find a list of your weapons and the specific ammo they require. Initially, opt for the most affordable ammo types to conserve your credits. Once selected, the ammo should be automatically placed in the Slot section. Remember to pay for it once you have sufficient credits.
As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in survival games, I strongly recommend you to heed this advice: Don’t forget to gather essential medical supplies! Just like ammunition is vital for your character, so too are items like a Basic Injector and a CAT Tourniquet. Click the Meds box to add these items to your inventory. Once you’ve done that, go ahead and click Confirm to proceed to the next screen. Safety and preparedness can make all the difference in these virtual wilderness adventures!
In the fresh display before you, ensure you tick any of the boxes above ‘Start’ that suit your preferences or necessities. The Squad Fill feature automatically fills in missing team members for your squad if necessary. Now, all that remains is to hit ‘Start’, and Delta Force: Hawk Ops will commence its search for other players to join the Tactical Turmoil game mode. When a match is discovered, you’ll be asked to select an Operator for the game (this decision won’t affect your gear, only your abilities).
Immediately upon landing, you’re in the action, searching for loot, fighting off opponents, and eventually making an escape. The exit points are marked by green symbols scattered around the edge. Some of them come with conditions (like requiring credits or discarding your backpack). Choose one that fits your situation and make a beeline for it to get out!
After learning the basics of initiating Tactical Turmoil, you’re ready to dive in! Start honing your skills on extraction missions, gradually progressing towards clearing other tasks, and eventually aiming for Black Site upgrades. Our Delta Force: Hawk Ops guide offers additional assistance, including strategies for the Havoc Warfare mode.
