How To Play Investigations In Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds transports players to the enigmatic Forbidden Lands, a realm teeming with both novel and familiar beasts, among which the elusive White Wraith is causing chaos. However, the focus isn’t solely on the new monsters; instead, you can expect updated weaponry, equipment, and even unique mission formats.

In this game, a fresh element has been introduced: “Investigations,” which are on-the-spot quests that you can design for the purpose of saving a particular monster to battle it with your companions at a later time. Here’s a rundown of everything you should know about this exciting new feature.

How To Create Investigations

As an enthusiast, I start my adventure by unfurling my map, revealing various monster symbols scattered across the landscape. Interacting with one of these creatures presents me with the opportunity to save my findings as a new Investigation. Upon clicking this option, I’m prompted to invest some Guild Points, the number depending on the rarity of the chosen monster, thereby bringing my freshly minted Investigation into existence.

After completing that task, head over to Alma and navigate to the Post/Join Quest interface. Here, you’ll find a variety of choices at your disposal. Select ‘Investigations’ from the options presented. This will display all the investigations you’ve saved for further exploration.

As a gamer, I’ve found out that when it comes to this type of mission, this is the sole Quest system available for Linked Environments; if you fancy regular quests, remember that you can only embark on them while being part of a Linked Party or hanging out in a Lobby. Also, don’t forget that each Investigation has a set number of playthroughs before it vanishes from your menu.
