As a seasoned survivor of the frigid wastelands of Frostpunk 2, I can confidently say that mastering the art of manufacturing goods is not just a necessity, but a lifeline for my people. The harsh environment forces us to adapt and innovate, and creating our own resources is one such innovation.
In the challenging environment of Frostpunk 2, people require essential supplies. If you don’t discover sources for these goods during your explorations, your only option is to start producing them yourself. However, it might take some time into the game before it becomes clear how to set up manufacturing, especially if you’re not aware of the right locations.
How to manufacture goods
After changing its product from prefabricated buildings to goods, Industrial Districts begin producing goods. It’s convenient that Industrial Districts can be constructed without being near resources, so you have the freedom to place them anywhere in your territory. To alter the district’s output from prefabrications to goods, simply click on the Industrial District and choose the vase icon as the new symbol for production.
In an Industrial District, it’s not necessary to stick with Prefabs or Goods only. If you find yourself in abundance of one resource type, consider switching to the other or transferring resources to another city that needs help building more Industrial Districts. This strategy can be particularly useful when space is limited.
Additionally, you have the option to enact legislation aimed at improving the production process or enhancing product lifespan. The choice of law to be implemented lies with you, considering what best serves your objectives or responds to the pressures from different groups within your city.
As I master the art of producing goods, I’ve noticed an uptick in the inflow of Heatstamps to my reserves. This not only boosts my wealth but also serves as a deterrent against criminal activities. For more guidance on thriving under extreme conditions, be sure to check out our Frostpunk 2 guide.
