As a gamer, if I find myself attempting to take down the Exploiter Orb in Warframe, I can understand feeling a bit bewildered. After all, this mission harks back to older content, making it less relevant in the current game’s meta. However, should you be after those coveted Nightwave points, here’s a strategy that might help:
1. Gather a team of four players (Solo play is not recommended for this mission).
2. Ensure your loadout includes weapons capable of dealing with shields and health simultaneously, such as the Boltor or the Vectis Prime.
3. Equip abilities that can disrupt the Exploiter Orb’s energy field, like Banshee’s Sonar, or Rhino’s Stampede.
4. Communicate with your team to coordinate attacks and avoid getting trapped in the Exploiter Orb’s energy field.
5. Be patient and strategic as you chip away at its health.
6. Once the Orb is defeated, claim your well-earned Nightwave points!
How to kill the Exploiter Orb in Warframe
As a gamer diving into this for the first time, let me take you on a journey back to the beginning. The Exploiter Orb made its debut during the Buried Debts event, which was part of Fortuna’s initial release. This orb was one of three rumored orbs scattered across Orb Vallis. At that time, we were left with a puzzle to solve, deciphering a code to access Deck 12. But since then, the solution has been found, and ever since, this area has been open for all players to explore.
As a gamer, here’s how I would rephrase that:
“Alright, I’m heading northeast from Harindi Crater next, and my map tells me that’s where Deck 12 lies. But before I go, I need to ensure I have some Diluted Thermia on hand, so I’ll be doing the Thermia Fractures event first. Once done, I’ll make my way to a cave nearby, and delve deep into its tunnel until I reach Deck 12. Then, I’ll hop onto the platform at the back-left corner of that room. There, I’ll find a machine waiting for me, which I can interact with to deposit my precious Diluted Thermia.”
The Menacing Orb, descending from its orbit, will arrive on Deck 12 – a layout reminiscent of Fortuna. Be aware of this similarity. In this battle, we’ll encounter two distinct stages, so let’s examine each one carefully.
Phase 1
In Phase 1, the action unfolds directly on Deck 12. The battle commences with the Exploiter Orb hovering above you. To bring it down into the main area of Deck 12, aim for and destroy the rocks supporting its feet. Once it lands, four vents will appear on its sides. Attack one of these vents until it shatters, which will cause the Orb to start covering itself in ice and initiate icy attacks.
In Deck 12’s main room, she will dash towards the rear and call forth smaller foes known as Mite Raknoids. Though somewhat bothersome, these creatures are potentially harmful only when combined with a massive strike she performs, as their minor damage could leave you vulnerable for a fatal blow.
Keep an eye out for the corners of the room, as several devices are about to generate Condensed Thermia. These areas will become noticeably bright with orange and yellow hues, but remember there could be up to three locations on each side. Once you’ve got a canister in hand, get ready to toss it at the frozen vents along the Orb’s sides.
As an enthusiast, I suggest you hurl the canisters upwards, making them detonate in mid-air and scatter contents onto the vents. If fortune favors you, multiple vents will get hit simultaneously with each explosion. Continue hurling and exploding the canisters until all the vents are cleared. Eventually, the Orb will retreat to the other end of the room, leaving a single vent behind. Take care of that last one, eliminate any Coolant Raknoids that drop off the Orb, and then get ready to trail the Orb as it exits the room.
Phase 2
Just steps away from Deck 12, there’s an Orb chilling on the frosty ground, ready for me. The core gameplay revolves around a heat gauge here. My mission is to crank it up while those pesky Coolrant Raknoids mob the Orb, trying to freeze it. To prevent them from succeeding, I’ve got to make sure they all bite the dust before they can cool it down significantly. A single burst of their chill could undo a lot of my hard-earned progress!
Defeated Raknoids may drop a useful coolant container for us. Later on, the Orb will crash into the ground, causing massive bursts of fire to erupt. Locate and retrieve one of these containers, then interact with the designated spot (you’ll recognize it by a small ghost canister within the flames). You can use this coolant to create Condensed Thermia, which you can hurl at the Orb. If you strike it, your heating rate will permanently increase. If you successfully shoot the container before it impacts, you’ll receive a boost to that speed.
1) Maintain a safe distance from the Coolant Raknoids, break any containers surrounding her, and eventually she’ll overheat. Approaching her triggers a cutscene where you tear off a part of her body, exposing an attackable spot. Continue shooting at her until one-third of her health is depleted, then repeat the process.
As a gamer, I’ve got to repeat those moves two more times to completely drain her health. Once it’s depleted, she’ll enter a critical state and blow up. So, grab her loot swiftly and make a hasty retreat from the scene!
