As a seasoned player of extraction shooters, I can confidently say that Arena Breakout: Infinite has done an excellent job simplifying the complex healing mechanics found in games like Escape from Tarkov or DayZ, while still maintaining depth and strategy.
Healing is one of the core aspects of any extraction shooter. If you’re starting in Arena Breakout: Infinite, you might be overwhelmed with all the medical items and conditions they’re supposed to heal. So here is a quick guide to healing and what you need to look out for in a raid.
The right medicine for injury
Similar to other games of its era, Arena Breakout: Infinite requires players to treat various types of wounds using appropriate tools. Unlike complex games such as Escape from Tarkov or DayZ, Arena Breakout: Infinite offers a simpler and more straightforward gaming experience.
Injuries result in a bleeding condition, which continues until the character’s health depletes or is treated. Utilize bandages or more sophisticated medical kits to mend these injuries. You can either access them from the menu or assign them hotkeys. It’s wise to carry at least two Field Bandages or one set of OPM Bandages with you whenever you venture out. Use the advanced medkits in emergencies, but don’t overly depend on them for treating injuries.
Injuries refer to Health Points (HP) that are absent from an individual’s limbs. To mend them, you must employ a medical kit of any sort and allow time for the depleted HP to regenerate. Since each limb requires separate healing, be mindful to secure adequate cover or have a companion to avoid taking fire. Given your destination, you’ll likely exhaust your supplies, so always carry at least 400 Health Points worth of healing items with you.
Pain is cured by taking Painkillers, or energy drinks if you prefer. Being in pain causes your vision to go blurry which can make drawn-out firefights more difficult. Your Painkillers will only subdue the effect of being in pain for a certain time, you still need to heal up after but they can get you through a fight. If you expect to get into an exchange, you can also use medication early to get the upper hand. Taking medication will also drain your hydration meter which you can fill up by drinking water or other consumables.
A fractured limb can be mended with the help of a first aid kit. When a limb loses all its vitality (or Health Points), it becomes fractured, making movement difficult. A fractured arm may impact your aim, while a fractured leg will cause you to limp, impair your mobility, and slow you down. However, for a brief period, the effects of a fractured limb can be bypassed with painkillers. If an already broken limb gets hit, the damage will spread to other healthy limbs, so it’s important to heal them promptly.
Exposure to gas without proper facial protection may lead to lung damage. Such situations are uncommon but can occur in specific areas like TV studios or events where gas masks are required. If not treated with a Nebulizer, this condition persistently weakens your health, so remember to carry one whenever there’s a chance you might encounter gas.
