How to get to the Bishui Cave Chapter 5 secret area - Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, navigating through Black Myth: Wukong’s labyrinthine world has been nothing short of exhilarating! The Bishui Cave, hidden deep within Chapter 5, is an intriguing enigma that I simply couldn’t resist exploring.

In Chapter 5 of Black Myth: Wukong, you’ll discover a hidden location brimming with valuable treasures and crucial backstory. Here’s a guide on how to unveil the enigmatic Bishui Cave.

To access the hidden section of Bishui Cave, we must first accomplish a mission connected with the NPC named Pale-axe Stalwart. You’ll encounter him right at the entrance of the area, where you’ll engage in combat with him initially. Once he recognizes that you are not part of the invading demon horde, he will switch allegiance and assign you a quest requiring you to vanquish several carts filled with demons.

Interact with the tough warrior near the Ashen Pass I Shrine until he speaks again. Following that, face the demonic wagon on the elevated platform close by. This is known as the Brown-Iron Cart, and it serves as a preliminary challenge for these battles. These fights often occur in narrow spaces where the cart’s area of effect fire damage can be particularly tricky. Remember to equip the Fire Proof Mantle from the secret area in Chapter 1 to shield yourself from the flames.

Three of the wagons are situated along the necessary routes for the tale, here’s why: to avoid any unexpected encounters with them in battle, you should eliminate them first. Afterward, make sure to converse with Stalwart. I’ll also share some information about a fourth wagon that, while crucial, doesn’t seem connected to this secret as far as I can tell.

  • Brown-Iron Cart – talk to the Pale-Axe Stalwart, then fight this guy on the small bridge and rest. The Stalwart should have moved to the nearby cliff edge where you can talk to him again for new dialogue.
  • Gray-Bronze Cart – right after the Height of Ember Keeper’s Shrine, you will find this cart. This one is nasty as it happens in an extremely narrow area. Use the gaps to the left and right for cover, and pick him apart as you can.
  • Crimson-Silver Cart – after the fight against the Keeper of Flaming Mountain, you will come to this cart. Take it out, rest, then revisit the area to find the Pale-Axe Stalwart has moved here, and talk to him.
  • The Ma Tianba Cart – this is not tied to the quest and can be found near the Furnace Entrance Shrine after PingPing brings you there. It is part of a separate quest involving the friendly Horse Guai. I am only mentioning it here to avoid any confusion should you come across it on your journey.

If the Pale-Axe Stalwart ever stands still, try advancing to the next cart in line and verify again. Alternatively, you could remove all the carts, then retrace your steps and converse with him at each location. However, following the sequence may provide a clearer dialogue, so I recommend doing it that way first.

From now on, keep moving in the story until you encounter a part where a massive spiked ball menaces you while walking on a path. Be vigilant of an area on your right side that’s engulfed in flames, which seems to bar your way forward. You will re-encounter Pingping, who will help extinguish the nearby blaze.

Head back a bit and take a detour onto the previously blocked side route. This path eventually leads to one of the Samadhi Fire Crystals. Continue along this route until you come across a colossal, frosty door. Be aware that there might be some challenging encounters, possibly boss fights, associated with these Samadhi Fire Crystals, so stay alert.

At the conclusion of your journey along the path lies a colossal door. Before you can enter the Bishui Cave, you’ll have to confront the Rusty-Gold cart, the penultimate boss. I’ll avoid revealing any plot details here since the region is relatively simple to navigate. Speak with the Pale-Axe Stalwart close to the enormous gate once the final cart has been defeated, and you’ll be able to enter.
