How to get the Gryphon Combat Sparrow – Destiny 2

Instead of grumbling, I’d rather express that I’ve never been fond of exiting my Sparrow in Destiny 2 to handle bothersome adversaries disrupting my peaceful exploration zones. However, the Gryphon Combat Sparrow eliminates such frivolous actions like standing and shooting enemies, as it comes equipped with some quite handy weapons.

How to get the Gryphon Combat Sparrow

In Destiny 2, I just found out that the Gryphon Combat Sparrow is up for grabs as a reward in the freshly started Heavy Metal event! To get my hands on this sweet ride, I need to tackle some challenges within the Heavy Metal event and climb up to Rank 15. This entails some casual PvP action with teams in Brigs and Drake tanks. As soon as I log in, I’ll head over to the Tower and chat with ol’ Shaxx. He’s gonna hand me an introductory mission for the Heavy Metal event and provide access to my “Event Hub”, which is taking over from Cards as our new tracking system going forward.

Subsequently, head to the main Director and navigate to the Events section. Inside this area, you’ll encounter the Event Home. Simply click on it to discover all the tasks, rewards, and challenges. You will earn the Gryphon upon achieving Rank 15 in the event, which continues for a week. However, there is a quicker method to secure it, as you can purchase an event rank for 100 Silver. Consequently, if you’re prepared to invest 1500 Silver, you can hasten your path to obtaining the Gryphon by spending some money.

Regarding the Gryphon’s maneuverability, it’s noticeably heavier than most Sparrows. However, its standout feature is undoubtedly its weaponry. It comes equipped with a shotgun that can deal substantial damage at close quarters, effectively eliminating any enemy health bars. Additionally, it has a lock-on missile pod that inflicts continuous damage upon striking multiple opponents, adding an exciting dynamic to the gameplay. While it might not be a decisive factor in the game, the Gryphon certainly offers an enjoyable experience and is a worthy prize for such an event.
