In Firebreak’s base, Firebreak (abbreviated as FBC), there are numerous elements on the Research screen – a variety of colored shapes such as green circles, teal lines, yellow waves, orange diamonds, blue circles, and golden badges. These may seem enigmatic, but don’t worry! We’re here to explain what these Research Samples are and guide you towards locating the Missing Assets. By doing so, you can unlock new items and improve your equipment.
What are the colored shapes?
On the Research interface, you’ll find two categories of items represented by distinct colors: Research Samples and Missing Assets. The Research Samples can be identified in certain roles, while the Missing Assets are present in all of them, numbering five unique types for the former.
- Resonant Globs (green): Frequency Shift
- Achromatic Sand (teal): Ground Control
- Viscous Strips (yellow): Paper Chase
- Whispering Ash (orange): Hot Fix
- Numbed Splinters (blue): Freezer Duty
- Lost Assets (gold): All jobs
In the course of your work, you may come across misplaced documents like classified folders, briefcases, or other file holders. Gathering these items will earn you “Lost Assets,” which can be used for Research or Purchasing needs. These assets can be found in any job setting, frequently hidden in storage units or dropped by formidable opponents.
In certain roles involving damaged items, you’ll encounter five samples named Research Samples. To locate these in your work, ensure that the Corrupted mode is activated before starting the task. The greater the level of corruption within the task, the higher the probability of finding these samples.
Initially, gathering the Missing Assets will be essential since they’re necessary to acquire fresh benefits and weapon enhancements via Requisitions. Once you have a decent stockpile, you’ll then prioritize harvesting Research Materials. Continue accumulating those quirky colored tokens for upgrading your preferred perks constantly.
