Initially, Corrupted Shards made their debut in Remnant 2 during a Halloween celebration, yet they remain accessible for acquisition and utilization to craft enhanced iterations of outstanding weapons. Much like other aspects within the game, there is a primary method to procure them, primarily reliant on Random Number Generation (RNG), followed by specific farming strategies we’ll discuss later.

How to get Corrupted Shards in Remnant 2

Special foes known as Aberrations may drop Corrupted Shards. These Aberrations are unique variants of bosses, exhibiting a spooky red energy effect and distinct abilities that can produce various outcomes. They appear spontaneously across the game, regardless of the location or difficulty level. The likelihood of their appearance increases with higher difficulties, with the highest frequency occurring at the Apocalypse level.

Aberrations, which are special types of bosses that emit a creepy red energy and have unique abilities, may drop Corrupted Shards. These Aberrations can appear anywhere in the game and at any difficulty level, but they’re more likely to show up when you’re playing at higher difficulties, with the greatest frequency occurring at Apocalypse difficulty.

In summary, these Aberatios are scarcely found, but you can potentially increase their appearance rate slightly. The key is to roam around until one appears randomly, then maintain at least one common enemy alive in that specific location. Keeping them active should allow you to gather some Aberatios, though they’ll only occasionally drop Corrupted Shards – it’s not a certainty. It can sometimes be tricky to get them to appear using this method, and it hasn’t worked very well since the event due to the higher rates of both spawns and drops during that time.

Boss Rush Mode

Currently, this method seems to be the most practical for obtaining these Shards, based on my personal experiences. In your adventure, you may encounter three Aberrations or more during a single run, though the exact number can vary depending on your chosen path. Notably, completing a run guarantees a Shard as a reward, making it an efficient method for accumulating them. To get started, simply navigate to the warpstone in Ward 13 and initiate a new boss run. From there, you can farm these Corrupted Shards by repeatedly grinding through the encounters.

A key aspect to consider is that enhanced Corrupted weapons aren’t merely upgraded statistics; instead, they alter the way the firearms function. Therefore, keep this in mind when assessing the updated versions, since it may not automatically capture your affection as you might expect.
