Where to Find Tracktail Lizards in Monster Hunter Wilds

Tracktail Lizards are most frequently spotted in regions 11 and 13, specifically within the Windward Plains area. In region 13, setting up a campsite at the oasis is beneficial due to its easy fast-travel access for encountering these lizards. Keep in mind that you’ll find plenty of Tracktail Lizards near the oasis, but visiting during daylight hours will increase your chances of spotting them as they are more active then.

Hop aboard your Secret Ride and explore the surroundings in quest of Tracktail Lizards. These peculiar creatures resemble Otters with long, tail-standing appendages. You’ll find them consistently in pairs side by side, using their tails as vantage points to scan their surroundings.

How to Capture Tracktail Lizards in Monster Hunter Wilds

Tracktail Lizards are constantly alert to their surroundings and will swiftly burrow into the sand when they sense your approach. To catch these lizards, use a Capture Net. Attach the Capture Net to your Hook Slinger and point it at the lizards. Once the aiming marker turns orange, release it to trap the animals. Keep in mind that you need to be relatively close to them for the aiming marker to turn orange.

To successfully encounter a Tracktail Lizard, you can either move towards them discreetly while wearing a Ghillie Mantle, thus remaining concealed, and then launch your Capture Net to catch them. Alternatively, you could attempt to approach them on your Seikret, releasing the Capture Net as you pass by them. However, this method is challenging since it requires getting very close and making a precise throw for the net to hit them.
