In the game Avowed, you’ll receive an automatic quest titled “Forged In Starmetal” upon discovering your first piece of Starmetal. Initially, it may not be apparent what to do with this artifact. However, to finish this quest, you must have made significant progress in the game and reached The Solace Keep within Galawain’s Tusks.
Once you locate a blacksmith skilled in shaping such unstable metal, you’ll need to decide on the type of Starmetal weapon that suits your character, as this choice will be influenced by the kind of Envoy you are crafting. But for now, our first task is to track down the blacksmith.
Where To Find A Starmetal Smithy

The most logical point to investigate in our search is Gweneth from Dawnshore. She’s the blacksmith you encounter at the beginning of the game, and she mentions working with uncommon metals. Yet, she offers no assistance. We approached her initially, and she recommended speaking to someone more knowledgeable, which advanced our quest. However, it might be feasible to bypass this stage.
The blacksmith who will assist you is called Forgemaster Dela. You can find him within Solace Keep, nestled within Galawain’s Tusks. This location is unlocked just before the point of no return, making it a late-game quest, although you may be able to initiate it early. He resides in the Main Hall, at the foot of the steps towards the back of the room. Follow the dialogue with him until you reach an option to bring up Starmetal. This will prompt him to share an enthusiastic account, which you can either listen to or hasten through. Your preference depends on whether you’re in a hurry or want to delve deeper into the game’s lore. Once this exchange is complete, Forgemaster Dela presents you with two options: a sword or an arquebus.
Should You Make The Starmetal Sword Or Starmetal Arquebus?

The choice of which weapon to craft depends on your preferred playstyle. If you enjoy close combat, opt for the sword; if long-range engagements suit you better, go for the arquebus. You can amass enough Starmetal to acquire both, and they can also be enhanced. Be aware that upgrading a weapon results in losing the original item, so proceed with caution. The stats provided below should assist you in making an informed decision.
