For quite some time now, Nintendo enthusiasts have yearned for a way to categorize their games on Nintendo Switch consoles, similar to folders. Once you grasp the method of grouping games on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, you’ll be able to employ this folder-style organization system to manage your preferred game genres more efficiently.
How to create groups of games
To initiate organizing game collections on a Nintendo Switch 2, you’ll first need to have a certain number of games in your possession. Once this is done, a grid icon will show up on the right side of the home screen where you choose your game. Click the grid icon and press the R button to navigate to the Groups section.
Ensure that a fresh icon labeled “Create Group” appears in the top-left corner of your screen. If you’ve previously made some groups, an additional icon called “Reorder Groups” will also appear below it. Click on the “Create Group” button and pick out the games you wish to assemble. Don’t fret; you can add games to multiple groups. For instance, my groups include “Classics”, “Retro Games”, “Mario Collection”, and “Favorites”, with some games appearing in more than one category.
After selecting your preferred software, click on ‘Next’. Then feel free to organize them as per your preference. Once done, click ‘Next’ again, and assign a meaningful name to this group that you can easily recall later. Finally, hit ‘Done’, and your collection of games will be all set for sorting!
If multiple sets of games appear on your Groups display, you’ll find it easy to modify their content (considering they function like folders) and adjust the sequence of your groupings accordingly.
