Now, Discord enables you to create a 4-character identifier that server members can optionally display. This tag functions as a promotional tool for your server, shown alongside their username. When clicked, it reveals a brief announcement explaining the purpose of your server and grants access to connecting with it. It’s an effective method to spread the news about your server and its activities.
How to create a server tag for your Discord server
As a server manager or administrator, you have the ability to utilize three Server Boosts to acquire a unique tag for your community. Members can purchase these Server Boosts by clicking on the server name located at the top left corner and then selecting “Server Boost” from the drop-down menu. Each boost costs around USD $5, but this price may vary based on the region of the buyer. Once purchased, you can use these boosts to unlock additional perks, such as a custom server tag.
As a fan, I’d first guide you to the “Server Boosts” section, conveniently located in the upper-left corner. Please note that only server administrators and owners have access to this area. Once there, you’ll find details about the boosts you’ve received, along with panels showcasing the benefits you can unlock by spending them.
Hover your cursor over the “Server Tag” perk, then click the “Enable Perk” button. A window will pop up, giving you the chance to configure your newly unlocked perk. Enjoy!
How to customize your Server Tag
To set up your tag, follow the steps below:
- Click the server name in the top left corner, then select Server Settings.
- Select Server Tag on the left side to access the settings for server tag name (this can consist of up to 4 characters that are alphanumeric, as well as limited special characters), the badge, and the color.
From there on, members are free to pick the Server Tag they prefer for their profile. Just scroll down to the Server Tag area, where you’ll find a drop-down list. The tags available will be those established by the servers you belong to.
