These side quests, at first glance, seem like a walk in the park, but they often demand more than just slaying a monster. To successfully complete these tasks, you might find yourself juggling additional chores along with defeating your foe, making each victory all the sweeter.

One of the initial side missions you can undertake from Gemma following the completion of Chapter 3 is The Smithy’s Seal of Quality. Once this task is finished, you can return to Gemma to gather additional side quests she offers.

How To Start The Smithy’s Seal Of Quality Side Quest

After completing Chapter 4 and overcoming Zoh Shia, you can return to any base camp where Gemma will be there with a side mission for you. Once you’ve taken on the Smithy’s Seal Of Quality side quest, you’ll receive a prompt asking if you’d like to proceed with this optional task.

Now, it’s time for you to approach Alma. In the menu, click on the Optional Quest tab, and there you’ll discover a fresh quest with Gemma as the commissioner. This mission involves tracking down the Lala Barina. Once you agree to take on this quest, Gemma will tag along for the hunt.

Following your acceptance of the quest, you’ll find yourself venturing into the Scarlet Forest. There, you’ll encounter Gemma who will be stationed close to Lala Barina’s spot. As the battle with the beast commences, Gemma will request that you lead the monster towards her instead.

It’s rather simple to draw Lala Barina towards Gemma, however, there’s a possibility the monster is engaged in combat with a band of Conchas. These smaller, ape-like creatures could distract Lala Barina, so it would be wiser to deal with them first before trying to attract Lala Barina.

You can also use Dung Slingshots to make the Concha run away from the battle site.

When the area is quiet and only you and Lala Barina remain, you can lead the monster towards Gemma’s position. At this point, she will set a trap to momentarily immobilize Lala Barina. Following this, Gemma won’t be involved in the fight anymore, leaving it up to you to face and conquer Lala Barina by yourself.

After overcoming Lala Barina in battle and wrapping up the hunt, head back to the base camp for a chat with Gemma. This conversation is crucial to finishing the Smithy’s Seal of Quality side mission. Finishing this mission will grant you access to Gemma as your Hunting Assistant. She may accompany you on future hunts, making them more manageable for you.
