How to change server region - Deadlock

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve learned to adapt to various gaming environments like a chameleon adapts to its surroundings. The automatic region sorting feature in Deadlock is a handy addition for many, but as someone who has friends scattered across the globe, it can sometimes feel like a game of international telephone tag.

In Deadlock, the system automatically assigns players to regions based on its assessment of the user’s location. While this may work well for some, others might find themselves needing to adjust their region every now and then. The advantage is that changing regions in Deadlock can be done swiftly by inputting a simple console command.

How to change region

As a gamer, switching regions in Deadlock is as easy as hitting F7 and typing one of the console commands. Instantly, I’m connected to another server, and the server times are conveniently displayed in the lower-right corner. Keep in mind that these times are adjusted according to my location, regardless of the region I’m connecting to.

Deadlock change region console commands

North Americacitadel_region_override 0
Europecitadel_region_override 1
Asiacitadel_region_override 2
South Americacitadel_region_override 3
Oceaniacitadel_region_override 5

Instead of directly pasting the command for the desired region into the dialog box after pressing F7, follow these steps:

Feel free to adjust the game’s location according to your preference. It’s optimal to keep the setting on automatic since the game will then decide the ideal spot for you. But if you have friends living abroad, it might be beneficial to discuss and synchronize your changes in location.

There’s a lot more to explore about Deadlock, not just adjusting the region settings. For example, have you reviewed the controls and keybindings? It might also be beneficial to extend invitations to others for them to join the playtest as well. Make sure to stay tuned to our Deadlock page since we’ll be providing updates on Valve’s latest shooter MOBA.
