How to beat Yaoguai Chief: Guangzhi in Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours under my belt in various action-packed titles, I must say that Guangzhi, the fiery boss in Black Myth: Wukong, is no walk in the park. But fear not, fellow gamers! With a bit of strategy and a dash of determination, this daunting foe can be tamed.

As a gamer, I’ve encountered Guangzhi – a formidable foe in Black Myth: Wukong, who swings around a pair of flaming blades. He might be tough, but it’s advisable to tackle him early on in the game. If you manage to dodge his elemental attacks, you’ll earn the coveted ability to transform, which is a significant advantage for many upcoming battles.

How to beat Guangzhi

In the realm of Black Myth: Wukong, nestled within the Forest of Wolves, I encountered a formidable adversary named Guangzhi. This opponent is situated not too far from where you engage with the Wandering Wight (it’s not hidden down the stairs behind him). Following my advice in the previous guide, it would serve you well to subdue Guangzhi prioritizing your approach, as the Red Tides transformation you’ll gain will prove invaluable for numerous early-game boss battles.

As a seasoned survivor of numerous perilous encounters, I can confidently say that when facing Guangzhi fire, swift and calculated movements are crucial. If ever you find yourself ablaze, my advice is to dodge three times, not letting the flames linger on your person for even a moment. In my own experiences, I’ve discovered that having Body-Cooling Powder at hand can be a lifesaver, effectively quenching the fire and granting you precious moments of respite from the inferno.

To defeat Guangzhi, just like in any boss battle, you should study his fighting patterns. Notably, he often ends his combos by spinning his dual blades towards his left flank. Keep an eye out for this maneuver, then cease dodging and begin counterattacking instead.

Generally speaking, it’s best to maintain a relatively close proximity to Guangzhi, but keep moving around him to avoid his sweeping attacks. When he moves away, get ready to dodge. He has a tendency to either charge straight towards you or execute a fast dash forward and back to his original position. This move can cause significant damage and sets you on fire.

His flipping, pogo stick move can be overwhelming at first, but just dodge each time he lands. He should flip three times, with the final slam unleashing a blast of fire. Dodge through the last slam and hit him!

Remember that your best friend in this fight is the Immobilize spell. Use it whenever you can, or even time it to stop him mid-attack.

After subduing Guangzhi, seize his gear and relish the Red Tides metamorphosis. This transformation is crucial for defeating the Wandering Wight boss, so make your way to the glade and challenge him. You’ll find additional support on our Black Myth: Monkey King page.
