As a devoted fan, I can share that the playtime for Elden Ring: Nightreign might differ significantly from the original game due to its transformation into a roguelike format. This change may lead to a shorter overall experience compared to the initial Elden Ring. However, everyone’s journey will be unique, so your personal time invested in Elden Ring: Nightreign could still be substantial, just possibly not as extensive as with the original game.
To clarify, due to its streamlined structure and increased emphasis on chance, the time it takes to conquer Nightreign or the typical duration of a single gameplay session may vary significantly. However, with several members from our GR+ team having hands-on experience, we’ll provide an overview of how long it generally takes to defeat Nightreign, along with the average length of a game.
Elden Ring Nightreign time to beat and length in hours
To finish Elden Ring Nightreign, the estimated duration will vary based on your gameplay approach:
1. Casual Explorer: Approximately 60-80 hours
2. Stealthy Assassin: Around 45-60 hours
3. Power-Gamer: Roughly 30-45 hours
- Critical path: 10-20 Hours
- Standard playthrough: 15-35 Hours
- 100% completion: 45-60 hours
To put it in my own words as an ardent admirer, the estimates can appear quite expansive due to the very nature of Nightreign being a roguelike game. Some fortunate players might manage to vanquish a Nightlord in their initial attempt, while others may require numerous attempts to succeed.
In the game Elden Ring, you don’t have to finish every Expedition or defeat every Nightlords boss to reach the end. Instead, beating just four Nightlord bosses is enough to unlock the final Nightreign boss. However, if you choose not to fight some of the earlier bosses, you can always return and challenge them later. With various game runs, remembrances linked to different Elden Ring Nightreign classes, and all the additional content they offer, there’s a wealth of experiences beyond the main storyline.
How long is a run in Nightreign?
When you embark on a quest to pursue a Nightlord akin to the Nightreign Tricephalos from Elden Ring, expect the endeavor to last approximately 40 minutes to an hour, if you manage to prevail without being vanquished prematurely and needing to begin anew.
You can encounter the daily final boss when the Erdtree symbol appears on your map during the second circle contraction. However, it’s advisable to postpone this battle as much as you can, so you have more time for farming Runes, leveling up, and acquiring the best weapons from Elden Ring’s Nightreign.
