As a diehard fan of 911 who’s survived more than my fair share of TV catastrophes, I can confidently say that season 8 is shaping up to be the swarming (pun intended!) disaster we all crave! The bee-nado teaser has me buzzing with excitement, and not just because it reminds me of a particularly hairy episode involving a wasp’s nest in my garden shed.
For quite some time now, we’ve been abuzz (pun intended) with excitement over the upcoming 8th season of 911. ABC took things to the hive level, focusing their promotional efforts on the bees themselves rather than showing any footage from the new season. Fortunately, they’ve decided to share a bit more now. A teaser has emerged, providing some insight into how a ‘bee-nado’ was created!
In a scene reminiscent of a thriller straight out of a “Final Destination” movie, I found myself witnessing an unexpected event as a truck transporting bees collided on a bridge. We were all just going about our day, but when a hive is disturbed, even the tiniest insects can turn into a formidable and hazardous situation for us all.
The truck was hauling…brace for it…22 million killer bees. 22 MILLION. As the trailer notes, that’s enough to kill 44,000 people and that’s not counting the amount of damage that’s set to happen as people panic and cause catastrophes of their own as they try to escape the onslaught of this bee-nado. With this many bees on the loose, it’s no wonder we’re in for a three episode event.
Indeed, Henry, Chimney, Eddie, and Buck are currently on duty. However, it seems that Eddie might find himself in a hurried situation (accompanied by his debatable mustache), running across someone else’s land with just his firefighting gear and a beekeeping veil for safety. This predicament sounds like the kind of amusing chaos we enjoy, and given the hints that showrunner Tim Minear has dropped about Bobby’s narrative, it promises to incorporate some self-referential storytelling too.
According to TVLine, Bobby is now serving as a technical advisor for a firefighter show that Minear described as “unrealistic.” It seems everyone is raising an eyebrow at this, just like Jim Halpert would. We enjoy it when shows poke fun at themselves. In a quick flash, it appears the trailer shows Bobby working on the set of the firefighter series. Here’s hoping they come up with an appropriately exaggerated title for it!
