House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 6 Ending Explained: Who Claims Seasmoke?

What happens at the end of House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 6?

In Episode 6, I watched as Rhaenyra, the queen I serve, turned to Ser Steffon Darklyn, a trusted member of her Queensguard. With a hopeful tone, she asked him if he’d consider attempting dragonriding, a skill passed down through his family lineage, with her grandmother being a Targaryen princess. Sadly, Seasmoke, the dragon once ridden by Laenor Velaryon, rejected Steffon and retaliated with fire, taking his life.

In King’s Landing, I watch as Aemond makes bold moves. He dismisses Alicent from the small council and orders Criston Cole to return to the Riverlands, aiding the Lannister army in their attempt to dislodge Daemon from Harrenhal. As I regain consciousness, Aemond fills me in on these new developments. His intentions are clear: he plans to reinstate Otto Hightower as Hand.

At Harrenhal, my character Daemon keeps having haunting nightmares where he sees his deceased brother. Later in the episode, I receive news that Grover Tully has met his end, and there are strong hints that Alys might be involved. Back in King’s Landing, Mysaria’s spies start stirring up trouble among the common folk. After my character Rhaenyra sends supplies to ease their hunger, the crowd turns on Alicent and Helaena during a public appearance. Towards the final moments of the episode, Seasmoke, our dragon steed, chooses a new rider. When I find out, I quickly mount Syrax and ride out to investigate.

He is more driven than his brother Alyn and aims to enhance their lives through their bond with their absent father. According to George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, Addam and Alyn’s mother is Marilda, a trader residing in Hull, which is a settlement on Driftmark.
